What's up my fellow horticulturist, botanist, and gardeners?! Just received my 400w SS this evening, and let me tell ya, I'm already impressed with the robust structure of this light. Not to mention how quiet it is.
Anyways, this will be my first ever grow journal and first ever forum post, however this isn't my first grow. I do look forward to hearing from other growers out there.
As for my setup, I was hoping to have my 2x4x6 tent freed up by the time this journal began, but the current veggies seem to be taking their time. No worries though, I've managed I make some room in a 2x4x6 closet.
Right now I've got 2 seeds germinating: Bell Peppers, and Hawaiian Tomatoes. As for growing methods, I'm not 100% positive just yet. I tried to get a jump on the journal by already having the seedlings ready by the time the light arrived, but they're not quite ready yet. They should be ready by the start of next week though.
We'll I've rambled long enough, just trying to get introductions and current status all in one. Look forward to hearing from y'all.

Just to give an update, my seedlings are coming along slowly but surely. I've got them under a 2ft t5 lamp for right now. From what I've read the SS may be a little too much for fresh seedlings. Ill probably put them under the SS when they get to the second node. I'll post some photos of my grow space and seedlings tomorrow evening.
what did you start the seeds in? soil, rockwool, rapid rooters, etc?
I start from clones so I don't have any seed experience but you should be OK if the light is about 24" from the tops. I think you'll get faster/better growth with the SS vs T5's.
good luck with the light! i think we are all fans of what CLW has come up with.
there are about 1/2 dirt farmers, 1/2 hydro here so you should be able to get all your ?'s answered.
Hey RKY, thanks for the reply and suggestions! I started my seeds in coco filled nursery trays in a humidity dome. I took your advice and moved them under the SS. It seems the pepper decided not to sprout, but I still have a Hawaiian Pineapple Tomato, and broccoli on the way. For an added bonus to this grow, a friend of mine gave me a Cali Conn "Strawberries n Cream" seed. Figured it would make this journal a little less boring lol. Anyways, glad to hear from ya, looking forward to the results!!

Here's the tomato and broccoli so far. I had these two under the T5 about 2 weeks ago, and once I put them under the SS it seems they picked up the pace a bit. I plan on transplanting them this weekend.

Well, besides whatever has been gnawing away at my broccoli, both plants seem to be doing well, and really love the light. I did quarantine the broccoli for a few days so I could figure out what was eating the leaves. Never could find anything, but it seems to be gone whatever it was. It's slowly recuperating. However, the tomato seems to be absolutely loving the SS. I'll be transplanting it to it's final container ( 3 gal smart pot), this weekend.
Anyways, I hope everyone and their gardens are doing well!!
