400w SolarStorm my first with LED's

Postby Budbuddy » Sat Dec 08, 2012 2:13 pm

Hey all i'm new to the forum. Just got my 400w SolarStorm and it is a beautiful piece of equipment! I have been growing under a 400w hps in a 2.5x3.5 grow box with great results. The only issues I have is the heat, electric and the cost of Hortilux bulbs. So I contacted California Lightworks and applied for there feedback program. Before my SS arrived I started some "Fruity Chronic Juice" clones from a mother I have in a 2x4 tent under T5s.Put the light in the box with the clones, which by the way I do my clones in a monster crop technique,in 3 gal.hydropots coco and perlite.Vegging very nicely, going to scrog this grow, feedback to follow.

Update SS 400 watt

Postby Budbuddy » Thu Jan 10, 2013 6:33 pm

I have had my SS 400 for a little over a month now. I have it over a SCROG of Fruity Chronic Juice in a 2.5x3.5 closet and I have never had such healthy plants ! They are in the 4th week of bloom and the buds look fantastic ! I'm so impressed with the heat reduction and power reduction and the flower production I have purchased 2 more SS 400's to put in a 4x4 tent, no more HID's for me. The reason for the 2- 400's vs the 800 watt is because I can spread them out to get a larger footprint and you get the benefit of having 4-UVB bulbs with 2-400's where you get 2-UVB bulbs with the 800 watt. Never the less the Solar Storm LED lights appear to be working better than I ever expected.Follow up to come in a couple of weeks.

I agree and a grow journal really should be updated at least weekly, imho. ;)

Sorry to all that I have not posted lately, I've had some health issues but better now.My two grows with 3-SS400's is going very well.I would love to share some pics but being the Old Dog that I am I'm not so good on the computer.I don't know how to post pics.If SME or Beefexer can walk me through it I would love to share and show what these lights can do with a good strain and some TLC. Peace !

When you're composing/replying there should be a tab below the text box that says "Upload attachment" from there you should see a button to allow you to "Browse" your computer for pictures and select what you want, clicking "Add the file." Then you Submit your post as usual.

If you still have issues post more info like OS/browser or phone/browser and we'll go from there...

Hey Budbuddy, just to make it simple I would recommend setting your camera (or phone) to take pictures in 1024x768 resolution. It might be called "medium" or "small" resolution on your phone. That way you don't have to resize the pics on your computer.

Good luck! :D
