Yeah your right, that's exactly what they were, The Einstein oil worked really well actually, I used it in a spray bottle with a wetting agent sprayed it on the underside of the leaves, its been a week, the tiny dots on the leaves are dissipating. The Einstein oil prevents them from reproducing, so I'm told. I don't particularly care for this crop, a friend of mine gave me clones at the beginning of the summer, I was going to throw them out side. So when I ordered the light and my seeds, while I was waiting for my seeds to grow into mothers, I decided to throw these guys in here to test some things out, like a practice crop lol. It smells really fruity, I have no idea what it actually is. The person I got it from has no idea either. Cant wait to throw my new clones in, they're rooting right now. I got some grand daddy purp, skywalker kush, holy grail kush, and og ghost train haze, Ill start this one once I get going it takes longer to flower, probably just do one for personal
Its been a while since I've uploaded pictures and what not, I'm in the mist of moving at the moment. I just weighed my dry weight I got 519 grams total, out of 6 plants. I actually did a stage harvest for the first time, I was worried that the plants were too big, I just cut all the top buds off, and left the bottom of the plant for an extra couple weeks and all the buds fattened right up. The quality was really good, I have no idea what the genetics of these particular plants are. I'm just finishing up with the move i'll upload some pictures over the next few weeks.
519grams divided by 700 watts .745 grams per watt, Perhaps even more I think these lights use more like 600-700 watts
Overall really happy with the results, I may have been able to yield more if I used a 1000 or a 600hps, but would of cost me more, would of had to run my ac more, using more power, more water more nutrients, Im thinking I can yield even more on my next grow, not bad for my first time with led. Im going to grow smaller wider plants this time around using lst. that way I wont have to leave the bottom of the plants for a couple more weeks. I was shocked that the smaller buds fattened up so much, In my mind I was thinking its already week 7, 8, I wasn't expecting it to work soo well
Sure, thing! Take what you've learned and start a new journal (from start to finish) in a new thread and we'll see if we can't help you get your numbers up a bit on your next go.
Disclaimer: I still use HID and I'm NOT an LED expert. All of my LED knowledge is from other parties or research so I can't say from first hand experience one way or another. I also run a medical grow consulting business in SoCal.
I've upgraded my pots to smart pots, There some type of cloth, allows more oxygen and prevents root swirl
I'm still using a mixture of led and t5's 6500ks and 2700ks
reverse osmosis water. I use cal mag plus, a three part micro bloom and grow nutrients during veg, and a connoisseur two part advance nutrients for flower, Big bud, bud candy, voodoo juice piranha, nirvana, rhino skin, a few others
Start of week 7, these are 10 week plants. These particular ones where candidates for moms so that why they vary in size. Grand daddy purple seems to just love this light, I just turned my uv bulbs for the first time today, probably keep the uv on for a couple hours a day all this week than 4 hours next week then 6 and so fourth, don't want to burn my plants. I got pretty lucky had zero issues with pests or nutrients deficiencies, no yellowing or burning, the advance nutrients seems to work really well mixed with the cal mag and reverse osmosis water. the smell is insane, excited to try it
humidity 50-55% water temps around 68-70 tempatures are about 76 and 60's at night ill bring that down to the 50's in a week to purple it up more ppm 1000
I don't run co2 at night just my exhaust, another good tip is to not pump your room full of co2 until the light has been on for about 45min to an hour depending on circumstances. the stomata are on the underside of the leaves, its how the plant transpires and breathes. if you pump your room full of co2 before that 45 mins, the stomata don't open all the way, the co2 prevents the stomata from opening, and if there not open all the way the plants aren't breathing as much as they could have, so you wont see much of a gain. keep that exhaust on for that first hour let that stomata open up then add your co2. you also don't want any co2 in the room for the first week or so of flowering, this will dramatically decrease stretching, like big time, the shorter the plant the better penetration, bigger your buds.
