Hello Everyone my name is Evol and I am an aspiring breeder. I just ordered the solar storm 400 and am currently in the middle of a breeding project with Afghan Kush Special and some Autoflowers also. I should be recieving the ss400 in a few days and will use it to finish my budding AKS because I'm very intrested to see how the T8 helps the final stage of growth. It will be on the AKs for the last 45 - 60 days then I will be using it to veg the clones that are currently in my veg room.
I use harvest organic potting soil and 5 gal (kitty litter) bucket for the AKS. I am currently using the Fox Farms trio on the AKS and I also have some Emeral Triangle nutes I'm trying on some of the clones. I PH the water but not runoff because I believe soil buffers itself out for the most part.
I will post pics when my light arrives.
I gotta give a shout out to Eek for giving me the heads up on this light trial, Thanks bro!

Disclaimer: I still use HID and I'm NOT an LED expert. All of my LED knowledge is from other parties or research so I can't say from first hand experience one way or another. I also run a medical grow consulting business in SoCal.
My light will be here tomorrow (the 5th) I had to wait untill my tax refund came until I paid the invoice for my light. I have decided to finish the budding AKS with my old LED and use the new SS 400 on the clones in the veg room. I bought a new memory card for my camera so I will put some pics up tomorrow or Wed at the latest.
yeah Eek I love Kush! Afghan Kush Special is just a landrace afghani S1 I believe. At least that's the impression I got from the description. Its also growing very similar to the landrace afgani kush I have seen growing in other forums. I will put up more pics in a day or two but I wanted to let everyone know that all is going well. I have topped all 5 clones. I will be starting 12/12 the first or second week of April after I cut a few more clones from the new mother.
The Solar Storm is performing beautifully! In fact almost too good. I have to move in 2 weeks and need to transport my plants so I have been watering them less often to prevent rapid growth until they are relocated. I am also keeping the temps down around 70 to help slow growth. This light does put off a little bit of heat but its not enough to make temps higher then I want them at the moment. here are some pics.
