Now it makes more sense... ;)

Is there no way to remove the sink/cabinet temporarily? If not, I'd suggest starting your flowering (from clone) while they're very short, like 6" tall. Cannabis wants to be tall and you have to work to keep it short so more headroom is better. You can also remove the ratchet/rope things and hang it directly on the hooks for an extra 4-6" I guess.

Sophie,

Can you set the reservoir on the floor and move the light over.
That would give you plenty of room.

Good Evening GR.

I think I may have solved my problem. Of course, as long as I get no more stretch. I removed the pulley system from the
light which bought me an additional 5 inches. The tallest branch now is approximately 4 inches from the LED light. Now in
referencing the genetics of my plants. They, under optimal conditions grow 32" tall; and billed as ....."and grows to medium height with great flower-to-leaf ratio. Tonight my plants are 32" tall. The measurement from the light to the top of my
tub is 36".

Now I am going to take this to my most forgone conclusion. ... I hope to h... that these plants grow no taller. And that I will
still have adequate light penetration into and under the canopy for bud formation and maturity. Would not a good theory
be that once the plants starts to flower; that the plant will concentrate and put forth its energy in flowering rather than
getting taller? (wishful?)

I'm afraid that's probably wishful thinking. While they will grow less than the last 3 weeks, they will still grow. If you can't use the floor and move the light over a bit as GR suggested then you should plan on using string to tie down the larger tops to keep them off the light until next time.

On Wednesday, November 6, three weeks of flowering was completed. The CLW SS was adjusted higher to give the plants
some additional inches.

ph 5.88
ppm 1276
Room Temp 73.6 Degrees
Water Temp 74 Degrees
Room Humidity 54%
Plant height 32-33 Inches. The plants have not grown any higher as of yet.

I am beginning to seen some faint "frost" actually visible with the naked eye. I think all is well for now. I tried to capture some of the upper leaf "damage" from the too close lighting . I don't pull off damaged leaves until they are ready to fall off. I am
planning on tying down the too tall culprits this evening.

They are about to explode, you should get them on the floor and move the light. IMHO!

Hey Sophie,

Welcome to the club!

I ran out of head room my last grow as well. If you can't move them & the light to gain more height, you will have to LST em. But be careful!!.... Make sure that your net pot is secured in the lid of your reservoir or you could end up with plants falling over.....like i did! :o Not fun!!

My current grow, I flipped at 5.25", wanting to finish about 24" or so. Now, after 5 weeks of 12/12, most are 30-34"...and the tallest are 36"!! They are doing well, but got way taller than I wanted!!

If you figure out how to control stretch with these lights, please share?? LOL

Happy 8-)

On Wednesday, November 13, 2013 I had now completed the 4th week of flowering 12/12 with the SS 400 from CLW

ph 5.81
ppm 1280
Temp 73 Degrees (room)
Temp 74 Degrees (water)
Humidity 55%
Plant Height 26". The four tallest branches were LST'd last week with orchid clamps and florist wire.

I had suggestions that I should move my base reservoir to the floor and move the SS light over to give me additional room.
I could not. There is an exhaust fan in the ceiling which will not allow me to move the light. Also, running overhead above
my sheetrock ceiling is a cold air return, again, running perpendicular to the floor joists to the furnace. The Floor joists are 16" on center and by the time I move over past the exhaust fan that runs to the roof, past the cold air return, I could perhaps mount this light over the toilet. I cannot temporarily remove the cabinetry and the sink due to possible damage to the tile
floor, thus I am stuck and LST'd the the tallest branches of the plants and removed the ratchet/pulley system to gain additional room.

However, I do appreciate you guys and your support and suggestions.

On November 20, 2013, I have completed week Five of Flowering

SS 400 12/12. I have not had to LST any additional branches. Current tallest branch is 27" tall. I have had no further leaf burn or
temperature issues.

ph 5.90
humidity 54%
ppm 1326 addition of PK 13/14
Temp 72 degrees

I have no growing issues to report tonight. I think all looks well.... And, that the grow is on schedule with completion in another three weeks.

My thoughts are with you SME as you recover from your recent surgery. I have missed your critiques and encouragement.

Looking nice Sophie, they should start to plump up for you now.

Good luck on the rest of your grow.

Peace out,

GR
