my first grow with led's. not quit sure the most effective to go about getting this done. I am growing 4 plants 2x3 space, that is only 4 feet top to bottom. I will be using general organics nutes. air rated water I also use molasses plant one, strain (unknown)...grown from seed. Seed sprouted 1/8/13..... now at 2 and a half weeks flowering plant two, three and four are purple clones so I don't know old they are.....all three are about 9-11 in. tall.....all in first week flowering.. ss400w about 11-12in. from top of plants
I don't have very much over headroom ,so I really don't want them getting to big. I am not expecting the best yield, as this is my first go round and I want to be as realistic as possible. if anyone has any suggestions or comments feel free even if its critical. Like I said I am new to this so I do have a lot of questions, for instance how and when should I use uvb and how do you achieve a canopy with flat top for max penetration avg. room temp around 60percent humidity and 70 degrees f
With so little headroom, you're going to run out of space unless you start tying them down, LST style. That assumes that you have enough space side to side too. With only 4 feet, I wouldn't expect much yield even after you have experience.
The CLW site says to use the UVB for the last 2-4 weeks of flowering. LST, SCROG or high density SOG (from clones) are the only way you *might* see an even canopy. Try to get the room temp up to 78-80F and drop the humidity closer to 40% once they start to flower.

the clones are in flower already...so I guess I should start to lst....and yes I do have more room on side the dimensions of the room are 2 feet long X three feet wide x four feet tall do you believe that I wont get good yield because of the number of plants I have in space, and the light not being able to cover it all or size of room being to small the plants re not very big .....I didn't think that they would get much taller after I put them into flower tried to post pic......I received an error message, saying that the pic. were to big
4 plants in a 2x3 space can't get very big, especially when you factor in the low headroom.
The reason you shouldn't expect much yield is simple math; let's start at the top and work our way down: 4 feet becomes even less once you factor in the height of the light and the space needed between the light and the top of the plants. What was 4 feet is now closer to two feet and that means flowering under 1 foot since plants double or triple in size from the end of veg to harvest. Flowering at 9 inches tall can't give a lot of yield without a lot of plants. Simple...

I have now moved plants to a 3x3 room that's is about 6 feet tall solving my height issue. I have also done some research on uvb ,and I guess its suppose to promote resin oil ,and help build tricones. light is about 18-20 in. from the tops. Not sure if I should still lst since now they have room to grow taller. I also purchased this bag of this white stuff lol.....its suppose to add c02 so hopefully this will he helpful I do have a question if any one can help.... how close should I be keeping light?
Did you add more light? A SS400w in a 2x3 = 51.7w/sqft which is pretty good but in a 3x3 space it's only 34.4w/sqft which is less than suggested. The extra 2 feet of headroom will help but you may not want to use all of the 3x3 so you'll have more w/sqft.
Yes, UVB is supposed to improve quality and increase trichome production.
LST will still make them a bit wider allowing more light inside.
CO2 can help with growth but it only works while the light is on and assuming that you're not sucking it out of the grow area with a fan. CO2 is best used in veg and early flower.
CLW suggests 18-24 inches from the top of the plants...

I have done some rearranging and I now only have 2 plants under ss400 I have been keeping light a bit closer then directed but I haven't seen any bleaching or white spots leaves are very green and both seem to be very healthy
