CLW ss400 flowering room

Postby Purpmonkey » Tue Jun 18, 2013 9:36 pm

My ss400 arrived last week and is now installed in my closet. just a few more supplies and it will be ready until then ventilation will be the door being left open, I currently have 2 bag seeds showing female flowers so I moved them from outside to the flowering room on a 12/12 light cycle to test the environment. feeding is gh flora nova grow 1/2 tsp per gallon phed to 6.5-6.9 ss400 is 18" from canopy with a cfl so I can see without wearing sunglasses.temps run between 70 and a max of 88 but they got almost 100 degrees when they were outside so they didn't seem to mind when it hit 88 ,humidity stays around 55 , still on grow nutes for now everything seems to be going well. I have 2 more outside showing female flowers that are about 2 weeks younger than the one in flower.I will bring them in to flower in another 2-3 weeks and my skywalker kush came up a few days ago and will stay outside as long as it can stand the heat, next week I will start a few kushberry seeds pictures will be up in the next few days

How long have those been growing? How big/tall are they? How big is the closet that they're moving into?

They came up on may 15th and are 12" tall , the closet is 44 x 42 x 84 I'm utilizing a 2 x 3 area with wire shelves to allow better air flow, I was wondering is there a process for switching to bloom nutes? The 2 plants have been in flowering room since Monday and are filling out quickly

Just feed with the new nutrients the next time you feed... ;)

Hello again, on to week 2 of flowering and no problems so far I have trimmed a few blades to allow better penetration, the plants are both around 18 inches tall and they are about 10 inches from the ss400 responding well. watering every 2 days with 1 and a half gallons of ph adjusted water and the 3/4 strength floranova bloom formula every other watering, i also have three clones that i cut on Sunday, still new so I am trying techniques on the first plants.still waiting on ventaltion so I can keep it closed up when the light is on. tempature range is between 74 and 84 with between 40 and 70 % humidity as soon as I get a chance I will upload all my photos and label them which week and such I just have not had a chance to get them off of my camera. After the GFP is done I plan to add a veg chamber to my grow Area

10" sounds pretty close - are you seeing any light bleaching?

I have seen no light bleaching in my plants, one of the plants has developed male flowers so it has now been removed from the closet and are now down to one plant.

Stretch has stopped and it now stands 23" tall and I moved it down lower it after it got within 6 inches of the light and stayed there for 3 days honestly I'm quite surprised that it didn't burn or bleach even the tips. The temp runs very odd, colder and dryer while the light is on, around 76 degrees with the light on and 30% humidity and when it is off it gets up to 82 degrees and 55% humidity, I have been lazy and not installed my fan and filter to the room maybe next week lol. I have three plants vegging outside two are seedlings and one is about 4 weeks old. All are recieving p.h.ed water with cal mag once a week

The plant in the closet is now getting feed with floranova bloom at 3/4 strength every other watering, after I flushed it with florakleen.I have not noticed any nute burn except on lower fan leaves but that may have been what got spilt on them from my watering can either way all new growth looks very healthy and has become much simpler than I expected I will upload pictures when I get access to a computer that I can upload them from I have been keeping a "full nude spread" weekly but I have no clue when I will be able to put them up hopefully soon!!

Time for the start of week 5 and still no access to a computer to post picture, but one day when I get access to upload I will make sure to post all the pictures to go along with this journal.

now for the updates.

With only one plant under the SS400 I thought it might get enough light saturation to penetrate but it seems to me if you look at the plant straight on it is apparent that it holds true, between 10 to 12 inches is the absolute max distance the LEDs will penetrate. with that said I must also say compared to being outside the plant has more trichs on it even in the lower portion of it, and now everything is just seeming so routine at this point 1 gallon r.o. Water w/cal mag at 1/2 strength phed to 6.5 every three days about 35% run off then 1/2 a gallon of r.o. Water w/ 1tsp of bloom formula at a ph of again 6.5 about 15% run off.

The only problems i see are in the lower parts of the plant some slight leaf curl and leaves not getting enough light so there is some yellowing on the lowest largest fan leaves. I would tie the plant down but I just want to let it grow and see what happens.

Temps stay steady between 76 and 82 although 82 is when the lights are off....humidity with the lights of is 65% with the lights on it is 30 % while they are on everything seems dense so hopefully it will start to fill out more and more over the next few weeks.

It is now half way through week 7, and things are starting to put on a lot of weight.Since my plant is in a one gallon smart part i'm having to water every 2 days with about half of a gallon of P.H..ed R.O. with .5 ml cal mag.

I have moved it to withing 6 inches of the light and have no light bleaching, temps run steady around 73 - 79 during the day and 77 at night R.H. of normally 35% during the day and 65% at night although this last week the humidity outside has been around 85% and is going to be there for a while so I am going to build a dehumidifing bucket to try and lower the humidity since it is stuck at 65% day and night.

This weekend I will be moving the plants to a new grow room it is 30"X40"X96" so I hope that it will utilize the light a little better I installed my 6" can-max with carbon filter in the new room,I didn't think the carbon filter would be as big as it is but I guess it's better that way.Once I get the humidity lower in room 2 around 40% I will move the plant in.

also i built an aeroponic cloning bucket last week and have taken cutting from my skywalker og outside, something I noticed was that the skywalker cuttings were hollow on the inside wasn't sure if that was normal or not?the cuttings are under 150 watt currently and will move in to flower right after the other plant finishes, my local grow shop gave me a sample bottle of floralicious plus that i will be trying out on my next grow,as for my current I will be adding powdered koolbloom start next week

Now as I said as soon as I have access I will post all my photos and now is that time
