I was raised in a French speaking household. There would not have been an SME regardless of when I was born ;)

I try to keep ozone out of grow rooms because it is hard on plants and it reacts with CO2 but I do like Ona for slight odors. There is no one right way to grow. ;)

YMMV...

Don't know if you saw earlier in the journal Psu, but I'm currently building an enclosure (4x8) and will go with 2x 1000w HID in it. I did the math with SME and there is a 4000$ difference for the same amount of light but lesser penetration with LED (cooling costs included in that figure). I will be building a third 4x8 enclosure this summer, by then I will have had two grows done with my SS400W so if I'm impressed with the results I would go with LED again for that third enclosure.

My guess is she won't switch to LED until that cost difference is significantly reduced.

Also, question!
How far above the res do I place my screen? I was planning to put the screen 24-26 inches above the res, since I have another 24in of room above it, but should I have double the space? I read sativas can double in size in flower.

OG Vertical Reflector (but the raptor appears to have a better footprint in 4x4 according to growers house tests... I'm undecided)
Solis Tek Matrix 1000W ballast
1000W bulb
x2

For the bulbs I'm not sure whether the dual arc bulbs are worth it. I must do more research on this topic.

Like vert reflectors but yeah the OG puts out way higher umol/par numbers than most but at cost of coverage area due to it's concentrated "throw" .....can always go bare bulb if running vert/haven't looked at your specific layout.....Has SME looked over this room build???

Don't like dual arcs either go with philips allstart 830w CMH (3200k) ONLY runs vert and 1000w mag MH ballasts.....if you must stay at 1000w then HPS all the way......

Have you looked cycloptics technologies ALL BRIGHT fixture??? brand new 315w philips elite agro CMH bulb(way more red spectral distribution shift than the above version)/dimmable/outshut off/3% lumen depreciation at 10000hrs burned!! and it's paired with their brand new bounce out vert reflector at around $$$650 a piece?? everything included...should be released this month.....I know whazzup(gavita) and tenthirty(cyclopt) are still testing it........wow im bored:P

If I were to run a grow room with the only purpose of making hash, what strain would you recommend?

That's one of those subjective questions. You'd want the same strain that you'd want to smoke. Some like sativas, some like indicas, some like flavors (not all of that will come though though), etc. About the only thing that wouldn't matter is color so don't worry about purple strains. I'd be looking for the most potent/highest yielding strain I could find.

YMMV...

Reason I asked is because yesterday I made my first batch of cannabutter and baked a batch of my usual favorite brownies... they taste radically differently.

I imagine cannabinoids are tasteless and it`s the actual oils that change the taste of the butter, so ideally I'd want something that is potent, high yielding, with minimal taste.
