Sorry to hear about your seedlings FCGFrank. Remember the basics: temperature, humidity, pH, nutrient EC/ppm. Seedlings prefer to be relatively warm and humid (keep them covered), and they will burn if you introduce nutrient solution too early or too fast.

If you are seeing wilting, I wouldn't add anything other than water (pH'd and filtered as necessary) and very gentle lighting. I in my experience cannabis seedlings and clones will thrive with just these ingredients as long as their heat/humidity needs are also met. Once they begin to thrive, I find it easiest to move them to small cups of soil or soil-less medium to be slowly introduced to nutes. You can do it in the bucket, but there's just no sense in mixing buckets of nutrients for seedlings IMO. Good luck!

btw most good myco additive products contain tens to hundreds of species of mycorrhizae, bacteria, and trichoderma. It's basically a complete microbiotic ecosystem in a tub. Honestly I consider beneficial bacteria tea to be one of the best things that ever happened to my garden. I can't recommend it enough. :D

You are right about keeping an eye on the basics (everyone should) but the cotyledons (the first oval baby leaves) naturally yellow/wilt/fall off, I think he already has true leaves and that it's nothing to worry about. I could be misunderstanding what he meant so YMMV. ;) Also, I wouldn't cover seedlings in a humidity dome, once they have roots they should be fine as long as they get water.

I would bury those rapid-rooters deeper and completely cover them with the Hydroton though.

I thought you said the cotyledons fell off at one point and that was the sign to watch for the first feeding?

Or did I misunderstand your earliest post?

They don't always fall off quickly but it is natural for them to yellow and wilt and they usually fall off on their own. Those first leaves only serve to help feed the plants until the first sets of true leaves appear and take over. There is usually no need to feed seedlings until that happens because each seed contains a little bit of nutrients designed to last long enough for the plant to develop and feed itself.

Hope that helps...

It sure does! They've been at 85F for two days now. No issues. And I buried the rooters as you suggested!

I just noticed you can see the yellow cotyledons in the very first photo. I didn't panic because you said it would happen. I'm excited actually.

I'll give them a 1/8 feeding tomorrow after the drain as you suggested too.

Is your air pump inside or outside the tent? I know you have fans for circulation, are they blowing on the plants?

The air pump for the airstones inside the DWC res? It's inside the tent.

I have two 12" Vornado fans that provide airflow inside the tent. They're aimed at the walls of the tent as to create a very gentle vortex that rocks the seedlings back and forth... the rocking invisible to the human eye unless you take out macro equipment and look at it at 1 or 1:2 magnification.
