Guess you haven't seen that "Subway" store in Japan that is using LED's to grow their own lettuce?? Check out some of those links I put down in reasons to use LED's. Have some pretty cool stuff in there.

I think there is another lettuce grower in Japan using LED/hydro stacked 12+ feet high to maximize the growing area. Search for "commercial LED lettuce" to see if it's still there...it was a while back that I saw it.

Disclaimer:
I still use HID and I'm NOT an LED expert. All of my LED knowledge is from other parties or research so I can't say from first hand experience one way or another. I also run a medical grow consulting business in SoCal.

Hopefully I will be posting some pictures of the tomato plants I am growing sometime in the next few days! The Superflare lights I purchased from California Light works last month have done wonders for my indoor maters!

Finally figured it out! Here are some of the pictures I took of my tomato grow set-up. The light I purchased from California Light works are amazing. They are nice and quiet and there is more then enough light for these tomatoes to grow and flourish. I am just using Miracle grow soil and fertilizer at this point. I will switch over to a more flowering type tomato fertilizer in the following weeks.

Very happy with the service and quality of the Solar Flare! The results have been fantastic so far!

Roma tomatoes are really starting to take off and drink a ton of water! Lights are doing really well as far as I can tell. Experienced some droopy plants after getting home from work but they have since recovered with some water.

Need to do some transplanting and give the smaller plants to family for them to grow. This weekend I plan on putting into larger pots and keeping about 6 nice plants.

Hope everyone is doing well! This Forum is a little quiet... Aparently I am growing a "boring" plant.
