I had my 400w 12 inches above for the whole 6 week veg time. Had no problem

I agree. I've never had this much reaction from being that close with my 400w. Apparently the Kali curled up quite a bit from the 18 inches. I'm glad I had my wife move it up or I would have come home to a very crispy rolled up nightmare :(

so the light distance is dialed in, I believe. I'm going to make a new batch of nutes at 6 mL instead of 8 and see how that takes.

I tell ya what, you grow 7 or 8 plants and you think you know some stuff. But you change 1 variable and you feel like a complete newb again lol

BTW, thanks for all the input everyone. I do appreciate it. Keep it comin, I'm obviously hell-bent on killing the little lady ;)

Day 14

The Kali looks to be recovering well from The Great LED Scorching of 2014. ;)

She looks a bit greener as well but that could be my eyes not yet readjusted from the SolarFlare :)

I JUST put her in the new batch of weaker nutes (6 mL) and I'll update any changes. I think for now I'll just leave her the hell alone and let her do her thing without any meddling from me :)

well its looking better now! so weird tho. My 400w was only 12 inches away from both my plants at veg and my 110w is only 12 inches away from my autos and still haven't seen any burning yet........... yet

Day 15

Remember when I said I was going to leave her alone and stop meddling? Well...you guessed it...I lied.

I have been debating for a while now the merits of topping/fimming when using the SCRoG method. There are arguments for and arguments against and it seems pretty even with success on both sides. I figured if I were to do it, now would be a good time. So I fimmed.

Hopefully I'll have 4 tops headed for the screen instead of the one. Either way, I won't top or fim again and let the screen take care of the remainder of her training :)

Also a buddy of mine is letting me borrow his EC meter so I can make sure the nutes are dialed in.

Then I can REALLY stop meddling ;)

Day 21

Kali is recovering well and I have retired the scissors. That was nerve racking ;)

Thanks to the new meter my friend gave me, I noticed the EC was dropping so a couple of days ago I raised the nutes back to 8 mL. It's holding steady so far so I believe 8/16 is the way to go, just not as soon as I had initially started. :)

She seems happy now and that makes me happy. :P
Just have to patiently wait for her to reach the net then the real fun begins :D

Day 28

Steady she goes! She's growing at a rate of about 1/2 inch per day which is...meh ;). I've seen faster but I've also seen slower :)
She is drinking a lot lately and pH/ec levels are stable so all is well :D

I'll be honest, I was hoping she'd hit the net by Day 30 but I'm on her time not her on mine so I must be patient. If she stays at this rate it'll be 2 weeks then it's SCRoG time! :D

Don't forget to keep an eye on pH. ;)

Keep on keeping on...
