This is my first time setting up a grow journal on-line. I started 25 seeds from HGS on the 24th of February and just transplanted them out of peat pots and put them under the various lights 2 days ago. I have 9 seedlings under a California Lightworks' Solar Storm, 6 under a TI Smartlamp, and 4 under a Quantum Badboy. They are running on 18/6, and they are all planted in a blend of pearlite, sand peatmoss, and rabbit manure.

The photos shown above are the new seedlings under the Solar Storm...I cannot figure out how to put all of the photos into one post, so the following two posts will be the rest of the seedlings.

I am really looking forward to this little test! I will veg the plants under the lights as shown. Then, once I know which ones are the girls and I am ready to flower, I will split them up under the Solar Storm and 1000w HPS and make some comparisons.
Welcome to the forums, I'm looking forward to checking out your grow!

Thanks! I will be posting weekly photos as things progress. I live in southern California and not on the coast, so heat and high power costs are always an issue. Plus I just like the idea of being as energy efficient as possible...that is if I can do it without sacrificing quality. I am running the UVB lights that are built into the Solar Storm from the start of the grow to see if that makes a difference as well.
Weekly Photo update of my journal. The first two are Solar Storm. I had the light approx. 12" off of the plants, but am thinking that that was too close because those seedlings were starting to yellow and show signs of leaf burn, so I backed it off to 24" and they seem to be recovering and greening up.
The second two are the seedlings under the TI Smartlamp. They seem to be doing excellent with a light height of 12". The third set of photos are the Quantum BadBoy. They are smaller, but they were also the last seeds from the batch to pop by a day or two.

Week 3 of my experiment. I took height measurements of the plants this time. The plants under the T5 are the smallest with an average of 2.9" for the five plants (first set of pics). The seedlings under the Solar Storm (second set of pics) are next at 3.72" over 9 plants, and the largest are those under the TI Smartlamp (third set) at an average of 4.21". I'll keep track of this until I start cropping.
