louie's ss400 (GFP) auto grow

Postby louie » Mon Mar 25, 2013 2:06 pm

hello friends, louie here, fairly new to growing, but an old time smoker. just started growing last year and decided to try led's, was using 2 - 400w and 1 - 300w (296w power draw) cfl's for veg and a 600w hps for flower, but the hps was a little too much on the electric bill. i'll be finishing out 2 dinafem autos, 1 is haze and 1 is cheese. 1st time for auto's and so far doing well, just set up the light and it's super intense. please don't hesitate to comment or advise.
peace :geek:

Welcome to the forums!

Don't forget; you may be using less electricity but you'll also get less yield since you have less light... :(

as long as it get's me where i want to be, i'll be happy. i've also seen some journals with some very nice yields using a ss400, but we shall see.

There's no doubt that the SS400 can flower decent plants but it's also half the of light you had so you have to account for that loss. I also agree that it won't matter as long as you're happy with what you get. ;)

my tent is a 33x33x63, so i hope i can grow 4 autos or 2 photos keeping them at under 30", that would mean veg to 15". does that sound doable? remember i'm new to this so it's all a learning curve. thanks for the heads up and don't hesitate to comment.

When the leaf mass hits about 50% coverage it is time to go into flower.

Isn't the whole idea of autos that they flower, automatically, when they're ready?

today marks day 51. i may have accidentally mixed up the 2 at germination. so the haze is actually the cheese, oh well. it seems the cheese is close to finishing up (day 51, does that sound right). anyways here are some pics.

What do you think of your LED plants compared to your old flower light?

1st time with autos and still a nubee gardener. this light is intense, i put on my glasses as soon as i walk in the room. i do like the density of the white cheese buds and they are super sticky. the haze is way behind (started same day) and seems to have ended her stretch and was LST'd. all in all i'm really liking this light and seems to fit my needs at the moment. i'll be germinating another auto seed to see how it goes from the start.
