Master Kush & NYCD test grow under Solat Storm

Postby DrKush » Thu Apr 05, 2012 12:57 am

This unit does generate some heat but seems to keep itself reasonable cool with built in fans and heat sinks. 4 plants is a squeeze in the 5x5 foot print but I need it to do at least a decent job on that many at a time to justfy the cost. I am replacing a 1000 watt Halide for theses plants and hope to save some energy without sacrificing too much wieght and quality.

Welcome Aboard!
I think you are going to be pleasantly surprised. It has no problem keeping up with a 1000. Quality, and yield are excellent, and my system isn't even close to being dialed in. I think the only way it could be improved, is by putting it on a light mover of some kind. Peace. h

No offense but I haven't seen any proof that backs that up yet. I'd say that the SS is one of the best LED lights on the market but I've seen no evidence that makes me think it can replace a 1000w HPS in flower with equal results. I'm still waiting for results on a number of LED vs HID grows. I hope, someday, that LED (or something better) will be able to replace a 1000w HPS but it's not there yet, imo.

I am trying to post some some pictures of the 2 NYCD plants and 2 Master Kush plants I placed under the Solar Storm LED light 4 weeks ago. It keeps saying file is too big.. :x The buds are developing nicely and the density is catching up. My energy bill came in at only 2% savings but in fairness I am running central air/furnance, 3 HPS. 2 8 buld T5s, a cloner and 2 dehumidifiers but I was hoping to see more savings. Overall I like the unit. I will keep working on the pic thing, if anyone has any ideas pls let me know. I'm new to this forum

You may need to crop, convert or resize the pictures. The .jpg format will compress well too.

I dont know what you are using, but if you open the pics in "windows photo gallery", then right click on the pic, then left click on "open with", and left click on "paint". This will open your pic in an editing window. At the top you will see a button that says "Image", left click on it, and left click on "Re-size". Now you just change the %, I usually do 22% for this site, (Just cause its quicker to just push 1 number twice) do the vert, and the horiz, and click "OK", and youve just re-sized them! Now you close this window, and it will ask if you want to save, click yes, and your done.
I know its a long process, but its the only one I know. You will get faster at it, it used to take me an hour to do 20 pics, now Ive cut it in half. Hope this helps. h
