Hey RKY,

rkymtnman wrote:would it be fair to say that the 50% amber gives strong muscle relaxation/couchlock and the high CBD is lighter muscle relaxation but with some pain relief too?? i guess the definition of couchlock is a bit murky to me. i describe it as turning into a human bean bag chair. limp, relaxed, sedate, etc

RKY, I would say your summation is pretty much in line with my opinions on this matter. Haha, couchlock is indeed a little vague...but to me, I describe it as being on the couch, comfortably, for a period time, without wanting to be somewhere else doing something else!

I no longer smoke anything I don't personally grow..and have never been more appreciative, or content, with the results. I have control over something that I never even REALIZED I could impact or effect!

High CBD Indica grown long, dried slow and cured long...mmm just what the doctor ordered...literally !!!

Peace!

You should check out CVaults and Boveda packs I've switched to these for curing and storage. :D

I've always defined it as so stoned you can't, or don't want to, get off the couch.

Zombie, drooling, vegging. (figuratively usually) ;)

Hey all, time for the weekly update!

First, let me say to TJ, I totally agree with SME...those C-Vaults with the Boveda packs are a huge upgrade to my old standby, mason jars...I have not only been able to finally get a handle on the dry/cure process, but I have been able to store a particular strain for over 6 months successfully without it getting dried out...and I finally get the smell and taste I was looking for!

I have also been able to "recharge" the boveda packs once they become crunchy and dried out...simply put a couple of them in a C-Vault filled with a little water...leave alone for 4 days...and the boveda packs will absorb the moisture and will once again be ready to use!

Ok, enough of the advertisement and on with the update...Today is day 19 in flower, day 57 overall. Temps got a little high this weekend, (90 degrees) and I think the purple wrecking crew looks a little worse for the wear, and the CBD Magma is continuing its ridiculous stretching...didn't happen at all the last time around...curious...the others seem ok...this may be a reaction to the pruning perhaps? I did prune last time around, but did a little more this time.

Here she is, almost 3 feet tall, nearly a solid 10 inches taller than the rest of the canopy

And here is the Purple Wrecking Crew, looking heat stressed (I think)

And here is the Fruity Chronic Juice, looking like a beautiful example of 100% Indica

Critical Kush settled down nicely

My favorite this crop, my Blueberry Bush!

So, other than the heat stress on one and incredible stretch on another, keeping on keeping on...other than watching the heat, really don't know anything else to do, but watch.

As always, thoughts, feedback and advice always welcomed!
Peace

Hi ICB!

Looking great again! That CBD magma is looking better and better and I'm excited to see how she turns out.

My 2 pennies on the Purple Wrecking Crew is that it looks like it might be Nitrogen toxicity. I'd wait for SME to chime in, but you might want to take a look here:
http://www.growweedeasy.com/nitrogen-toxicity-cannabis

As your leaves are really dark green, and I'm seeing clawing downward, this would be my first guess. As far as how to fix it, I'll defer to SME again. I'm betting a flush will sort you out.

In my humble and meager experience, heat stress is indicated by leaves curling up on the serrated tips, folding like a taco down the length of the leaf. Although your temps got pretty high, the rest of your garden is looking no worse for wear.

The blueberry looks great too! Nice work, keep it up!

Could also be overwatering or pH issues (I'd check pH first, as always) but you can see some problems there...

I cannot debate you as I have not tried "Packs" However (isn't that better than a but) I feel like an old time champagne producer talking to an executive about aging wine vs artificial carbonation or flavorings. My product is very "dank" and tastes aged and buttery. Is yours? I ask in all humility and really want to know. :| (Please excuse thread capping)

You know, the C-Vault is really the same thing as a mason jar, providing a sealed environment that prevents any exchange of air or moisture...with the added benefit of blocking THC degrading light, and also a very large increase in storage volume. This, for me, is especially nice as I can keep the buds on long 4-5" stems for continued curing.

The other bonus is the Boveda packs...they maintain the RH at 62%, absorbing excess moisture or releasing moisture into the environment if they get too dry. Again, you definitely need to open them up at regular intervals to exchange the air...but now that I am finally ahead of my demand, the ability to store particular strains for a long duration is really nice (for example, that Pineapple Chunk). I also was able to resurrect a friends stash that was nearly crispy...one week in the CVault, and his buds were squishy again...they had also gained a substantial amount of water weight!

As SME has always said, there really is no one "right way" to grow, harvest, dry and cure...and once you find a way that works for you, enjoy it!! What a great hobby!

Peace

That's totally true! I am so excited to try the Boveda packs and Cvaults though. They seem like (as everyone who's used them has said, including all the amazon reviews) they're a completely ideal solution.

I'd liken it to using the perfect curing chamber for your product. Similar to choosing an oak barrel, as opposed to say a maple barrel for wine. Poor analogy, I know exactly nothing about alcohol aging, but I think the choice of a better environment is always a good choice, whether growing or curing. Just like you said!

Also, it seems so darn easy!

Hi all,

Time for the weekly update (1 day early, moving to Saturdays as football season picks up!)...so, today is day 24 in flower, day 62 overall. Up to full strength feeding every third day, RH between 45-50, but my temps have fluctuated a bit more than I like due to our weather here...I have seen the temps get up to 90 in the day and 75 at night...based on the humidity, my dehumidifier cycles off, which causes the cool down...I just put my heater in the grow room instead, and I'll be watching the RH....It is so dry out now, hoping it will be the key!

The girls seem pretty happy overall, and the stress that the Purple Wrecking Crew was showing last week seems to have subsided after a full flush 4 days ago, and a light feeding yesterday. Also, as you will see, the Critical Kush continues it's climb to the skies...it has now grown right up to the light! This plant did not do this last time, and none of the 14 others strains I have grown have done this...I am stymied.

Any ideas as to why this may have happened? Also, what should I do about it? I had a thought to either ignore it and plan on trashing that bud when harvesting, or cutting it off? Don't want to stress it though....

There are many things that can influence the flowering stretch but you can definitely see the Sativa in her. I think we even had a topic here about it. ;)

You can always tie down the top LST style if you want to keep her shorter...
