Still looking good Happy.

I try not to panic too much especially the deeper you get into flower. I've had issues with big fan leaves yellowing on this grow and on a strain I did 2 grows ago. All my conditions were good: pH, temps, EC, etc. so I just let it go until the end. The plant didn't look pretty but it was superb quality!

I'm not smarter than mother nature and I just figure it has to do with elevation in my case.

Keep on rockin!

Thanx Rkymtnman!! Even with the yellow leaves, yours are looking good!! Love the amount of frosting you have going on,..

I had to come by and sneak a peek at mine....and am relieved...some. Last night, before lights out, I clipped the badly damaged leaves but left the ones with only slight damage. Today. after the light came on, I am relieved to report that NO leaves look like the condition has worsened, and it does not appear to have affected any other plants!!! WHEW!!!

Hopefully I will have more time for a closer inspection and a couple of pics this evening... But other than that, the rest of the girls are looking good!! Pretty much all tops are showing nice, bright green growth & forming buds...and the established part of them is a nice, even, darker green. I dropped my Ph from 5.9 back to 5.8 and the PPMs are still elevated slightly from adding the KoolBloom, but have started to come back down a little. Very few tips have any sign of nute burn...

So that means that my girls are still eating and hopefully trying to recover, right?

Thanx Guys!!

I try to not cut off bad leaves. I just let them do their thing and they'll fall off eventually. My theory is if the plant is using them for energy, let it use all the energy it can.

But yeah, I don't see any really bad issues on yours. So many deficiencies look very similar it's kinda hard to pinpoint. I'll bet if 3 people looked at your pix, they would probably have 3 different reasons for the issue.

Hahaha, I bet you are right...or at least 2 of the 3... But until I get more & better experience I'll be wanting/needing 3 people's opinions...lol Then go with the one that makes the most sense! I dunno....

I think we have a very good, and knowledgeable moderator for this forum!! With the knowledge and experience that SME possesses, me and my grow can be his Guinnie Pig anytime....especially if it means I will be learning from all of it!!

Sister Mary Elephant, thank you for watching over us!!

Just checked in on my girls!!! I am VERY happy to report that I can see NO additional leaves or plants are showing any signs of deficiencies!!!!!! Whew!! Got lucky on that one...I think! So maybe I won't need the "Smiley" of a guy shooting himself in the foot after all....lol I chopped the affected leaves from both plants and counted a total of 12 leaves.....so hopefully it's fixed and damage was kept to a minimum??

Regarding the fallen leaves, I remember reading way back when I first became interested in hydro, to be careful with dying leaves because just a few falling into a reservoir and decaying could give the bad bacteria the upper hand(God knows I do not know nearly enough about the bacterial relationships that are going on under my girls!!).....
Dunno if that is reality or not....but I started with a much smaller reservoir, 6 Gal, so I am sure it would take more than a few to foul the reservoir I have now.....but that is at least partially why I clip a leaf after it has reached a certain point of deterioration...

Along similar lines...I stumbled onto a video the other night...the topic was topping and FIMing, but another little tid-bit I picked up was this guy trimmed his upper fan leaves, much like you would trim the leaves on a clone. Theory being that the leaf is still there to produce for the plant, but having it's size reduced a little provided for better penetration to the lower portions of the plants with the LEDs. Somewhat makes sense...doesn't it? What do you see as drawbacks to this?

Any other opinions on that??

Hey again!
Great evening here!!

Sister Mary Elephant, In appreciation of your help....I raised up my LEDs tonight and turned them off completely!!!!

Just because I know how you don't like pics taken under LED, I hung one of my T5s over the Aeroflo and took pics to show you the progress I have made with your help.... I am so proud of my girls!!!

This is one of the 2 affected..if you look close you can see where I chopped the uglies off..

I can't see anything wrong with the rest of the plant....or it's sister next door...or any other plant in the system! Here and there I can find a leaf or two with slight nute burn on the tips...but even that is rare.

My ph is holding at 5.8.... PPM has dropped about 20 since this morning to 1340, which is still a lot higher than it was...Everything I can control seems to be behaving for me. Beautiful green girls dancing in the breeze!!!

I'm getting excited and hopeful....they just went to sleep on day 16 of 12/12....hope I am doing as well and as happy when those numbers are reversed... 8-) Thank you SME & Rkymtnman for your help....so far...lol

Comments, advice, suggestions or BS welcome!

More than usual,

Happy

Give it time...

I'm not sure how debris would get inside the reservoir; it should have a lid and be light-proof too.

If you cut the surface area of the leaves you cut the photosynthesis area too. If penetration is *that* much of an issue then I'd get more powerful lights or grow smaller plants. ;)

YMMV...

Well at the time I read it I think I was just starting my first indoor grow, with home made 6 gal tubs, where I had to pull a net pot to check water level, ph, ppm.....drain & fill...everything. So it clicked with me....and I have always tried to keep the surface around the base of the plant clean....and no, I have never tried soil indoors... :)

And speaking of light... my additional 2 SolarFlares should be delivered and hung tomorrow, retiring the mags from flowering.

And in my short experience, I already know that I will kick into 12/12 at least a couple weeks sooner next time around.....

This is day 19 of 12/12 and everything seems to be going smoothly and the girls seem to be doing what they are supposed to.

I think I have found a "sweet spot" that they like?? For the last two days my PPM goes between 1330-1340 during the day, but is sitting at 1330 when the lights pop on. I adjust Ph when needed, but am just watching PPM...

Girls are looking good...not seeing anything to worry about(that I know of!). As before, I can find a couple of tips that show nute burn, but I really have to look to find them!

Just watchin, waitin, trying to be patient....

How they doing, Happy? This is the hard part. 60 days of flower seems a lot longer than that huh??? lol.

I'll have some more pix Wed. Will be the end of 6 weeks for me.

The LF still doing OK for ya? It's nice to only have 2 bottles of nutes to deal with. what are your ppms at now??

Hey Rkymtnman,
This IS the hard part!!! I wonder if my girls are moving forward like they should...lol I just finished 3rd wk of 12/12 and everything looks healthy, and keeping the numbers fairly steady...2nd wk they seemed to pop...3rd week seems slower. I just watched.... PPM seemed to settle around 1330, rising to 1350 at times but settling back to 1330. Ph has been dropping... from 5.8 to 5.7...in the evening I would bump it back to 5.8.

The LF?? Either I am pretty lucky or I might have a loose grip on it...lol Like I said, just been watching PPM, and it has stuck between 1330-1350 since Saturday. I have intentionally let the water level drop to see what Ph & PPM would do... Ph has dropped about 0.1 per 24-36 hours, and I bump it back to 5.8 about that often. PPM ranges 1330-1350 each day.

Tonight I was 10 gallons low so I felt it was time to top off...When I started to top-off I was at 5.7 & 1350. I knew I wanted Ph to mix in and settle at 5.8...and I was thinking that for the PPM to rise each day they were being slightly over-fed, if anything?? Right or wrong I was looking to lower PPM just a tiny bit to see if that got it closer.

After calculating, mixing and adding 10 gallons to my res, then giving it an hour to circulate & settle, I am pleased to see the GroChek showing me 5.8 & 1340!!! I did intend to drop the PPM a little more, but with this much water I think it is close enough..at least to watch for a few more days. :)

Thinking I may hold off on pics until there is more development....
