New to indoor starting grow journal with 400 w solarstorm

Postby Big » Mon Sep 03, 2012 8:26 pm

Hello to all !! Iam new to indoor growing so take it easy on me. I've been outdoor growing for a couple seasons and had great results and have decided to go indoors I went crazy and bought new t5 light airpots And new solarstorm 400 I was gonna go hps as all my In door grow buddies use that system with great results . I had heat or fire concerns and didn't want to install new ducting or hvac system in my house and power bill is a concern for me as I wold rather blow hard earned money on nutes not energy bill lol. I just set everything up and using only t5 now as seeds just germinated or sprouted from coco coir circles they are a weeks old so I just put in bigger containers .5 gallon full off 70 percent roots organic 30 percent perlite I will fire up solarstorm next week when seedlings get alittle bigger . Don't want to fry my babies lol . I will keep you posted when I fire up ss 400 I'm pretty excited to c what it can do! Ps I will be listing all nutes at later date due to long list . Crazy long list but great stuff!! Thanks to all for any help with new light is greatly appreciated !! Thanks again and show mercy on the newb I've never done a journal before this is a first also!!

Thanks for warm welcome sister Mary elephant I've been watching this site for a while before I purchased ss400 i have seen your replies and found your vast knowledge very helpfull in some of my decisions in indoor gardening. I set uP my ss400 in grow room and I must say Iam amazed how powerful the led light is!! Its a cool color but it's blinding lol is the a special tint off glasses I can buy to make less harsh on eyes? I heard green party glasses make light look white but haven't had opportunity to try that experiment yet.
As previously stated Iam a newb to indoor .
I got outdoor down To a gorilla redneck science lol but recently I a hurricane run thru my unidentefied location and messed up my girls bad. I was able to bring one inside that was small enough to fit in grow room I shoved my baby under ss400 and turned it on . I was worried about the change from sun to led but she loved it and after day three I'm telling u the trics were popping out everywhere .
I turned on uv bulbs as she is is final flowering but after 12 hours I noteced weird brown paper lookIng curls by top off plant in two little spots . I think I had it to close to the light. So weather is almost cleared up I put the girl back outsided and she looks better than ever with a lot more trics than before storm I want to believe it is the ss400 . Any ways I'm Pumped about new light and can't wait to put my new sprouts and strains under the led I will keep u posted when I do thanks!

I try to help when I can. I really like getting rid of the spammers too. ;)

There probably are special glasses but I'd imagine that they're expensive. Good sunglasses might help.

To prevent macular degeneration, it is important to wear glasses with an amber or yellow tint when exposed to intense light, or blue-spectrum light (especially LED grow lights).

My grandmother has that and they have made great strides in stopping and reversing it. Shes to old now to qualify but there is a procedure where they can go in through the side of your eye and do some repairs to restore some of your eye sight. Its very promising.

Recently as well they implanted a chip and for the first time ever this woman could see colors and rough shapes...it will only get better. Out technology is geometrically advancing now. The Singularity is approaching!
