Thanks bud,

I can make some recommendations on the cabinet your friend can make for you. Learned a lot this construction. I have some wasted space, hopefully you can avoid that.

The plants are doing well, I really like the veg of the SS400, hopefully will do well in flower.

I started the plants in 3 inch pots, transplanted to 3/4 inch pots then to the 3 gallon, but that was a while back and I think I am root bound. The clones in the 2 gallon pots were started in rapid rooters, to 3 inch pots, to the 2 gallon pots.

I could use some advise on whether to transplant up or not at flower.

I am thinking they are females, just by the looks of them, we shall see in a week.

Hey GR,

Thanks, I'll pm you with any questions we may have after I share these pics!

I'm pretty sure that SME has recommended to never trim or transplant while flowering...too stressful and can cause hermies...I may be mistaken, but pretty sure. I transplanted at 3 weeks (was rootbound) and flipped to 12/12 at week 5.

I remember reading a lot about pot sizes when I was planning things out, and several blogs mentioned a general rule of thumb was 1 gallon per month of plant life...so it may make sense that you could indeed be rootbound if this is accurate.

Good luck man...and glad to hear that you are feeling better!

I don't *know* that it's salt but it kind of looks like it and salt buildup in soil is pretty common, especially when their not flushed with good runoff occasionally.

It's certainly *better* to do final transplants a week before flowering but if they're root bound it might be worth the risk if they're not very far into flower. Not every plant will herm with slight/med stress but some genetics (like train wreck) are more prone to it.

Day three of flower!

SME, Thanks for the info, I will not be transplanting, I think it is too late to do so. Check them this morning when I turned the light back on and they were still moist. Last watering was Sunday evening 10/27 so I will wait till tomorrow to water/feed.

I do have a question for all you smart folks, after 36 hours in the dark I opened the doors and turned on the light. I noticed that the tops of the plants looked a bit yellow, but they had grown about 4 inches during the dark stage. I will check them again this evening to see if there is any change in color. Pics below.

I may be a bit over crowded, what do you think. I can eliminate one or two of the plants in the 2 gallon pots, would rather do that than have overcrowding as I think that is more important than the number of plants.

I don't think this is a problem, just new growth without light. What do y'all think?

hey GR,

looking good!

the only thing i noticed that I would try to change is the RH. should be closer to 40% versus 60% I think in flower or you risk mold issues. is a small dehumidifier an option?

RKY, I know nothing about dehumidifiers, should I put it in the closet where I am drawing the air or does it have to be in the cabinet? Don't think I have room in the cabinet.

hey GR,

i would try a few things first before the dehumidifier

how is your ventilation set up?
do you have a fresh air vent at the bottom of the cab and a exhaust at the top of the cab?

i went back to the pix and it looks that way.

but your house humidity is 60% so that's not really gonna help much.

is there a way to bring in fresh outside air? what is the RH outside today??

the cab looks pretty tight but can you build a shelf in the cab above the light? or maybe hang the dehumid from an eye hook on the roof of the cab??

in the meantime, i would crank the fans up as high as they can go. the added airflow will help molding but you are going to have to get it fixed sooner rather than later

My cabinet is approx. 45 cubic feet, got any recommendations on specific units.

Yes that is correct, 200 cfm/min.

What is the RH outside today?? 95%, raining good today. Normal is 60 to 80%

Yes I have a bit of room.

That is a better idea and I though of that.

Today I am give them all a good watering and feeding, I plan on rearranging the cabinet and put in a Three speed Lasko wind tower fan and will run 24/7.

Thanks for all the advice bud, it is appreciated greatly.

no worries GR. glad i can help.

no advice on one to get. my humidity out here is 22% today. we rarely get above 35 to 40%. one nice thing about high elevation!

my only advice would be to get one that would drain easy since it might be hanging or on a shelf.

If you can't fit a smaller dehumidifier inside the grow area, then you'd need a bigger one to deal with the room that feeds the intake.

I've had good luck with my large maytag dehumidifier but I have no specific suggestions for smaller ones other than, as RKY said, make sure that it has a drain option (uses a hose) and not just a built in bucket/tank that has to be emptied often. The larger capacity you can get, the less it will have to work for the same load and the water collected is virtually the same as rain/distilled/RO so save it. ;)
