Well with the bigger fan in there and even after watering the temp is up do to going to bloom, I guess, no other reason I can think of.

House temp 74
Cab temp 83 F

House RH 66%
Cab RH 66%

Am looking for small room dehumidifier.

Switching to flower mode will increase the actual draw watts but if that's all that changed you may need a bigger fan. Keep an eye on it. What size/brand fan are you using?

SME,

200 CFM Phresh filter
200 CFM Wind Tunnel fan

GR

The new tower fan in the cabinet may be moving too much air and bringing the heat from the top of the cabinet around the filter and fan back down to the lower area?

hey GR,

i'm pretty sure i read this somewhere. you want 10 times the size of the grow area in fan size. so yours is 45 cu.ft you'd want 450 cfm.

i'm sure SME knows what this rule of thumb is.

I don't think that there is one rule of thumb but 4x would certainly on the low end and, in this case, it doesn't seem to be enough. This is why I always suggest going bigger that you need for fans. The bigger ones are only a little more money but they move much more volume and then you can use a fan controller to slow them down and make them quieter.

In this case the 4" fan doesn't seem to be enough but a 6" or even 8" would have had so much reserve that it leaves room for expansion or a larger heat load in the future.

Circulation fans should move enough air that temps are more even but the heat will still need to be removed. You can test the theory by lowering the speed on that tower fan but the best solution would still be an exhaust fan that can handle the load. I know it's harder when you've already invested in equipment but maybe it'll turn out to be something that you can reuse elsewhere if you decide to upgrade.

Hi all,

RkY and SME, thanks for the comments. I just returned home and check the temp and RH, house 70 degrees and 61% RH, Cabinet 72 degrees and 62% RH and that is with the light on. Will look into larger fan. Question will I need to upgrade the filter, it is 200 CFM also.

Sad news but I am posting pictures for verification, don't really need it because I already know what it is.

When I got home was making a quick view of the tribe and have found that Q1 is a little bastard. More bad news is that three of the four clones are from Q1.

Looking at Q2 I think I see some tiny hairs forming.

Q2 Oh yeah 11-1-13.jpg

Now I have to figure out which clone is the young lady and get rid of the other three. I guess my plans to go out of town tomorrow are on hold. Not so fast there GRman, thinking I just found the Q2 clone, thinking I see small hair forming, check again later and try and get a pic or two. I have Q1 and his offspring outside and Q2 and her daughter in the box. Will watch both close for any changes.

Unfortunately, yes. Adding the filter actually reduces the flow due to backpressure so you weren't even getting 200 CFM from the 4" fan and you'll definitely want a filter rated to handle the fan you replace it with. Are you going 6" or 8"? Are you going to add a nice fan speed controller?

BAD Q1...bad! :(
(Why is Q1 still alive?)

Q2 looks like a keeper... :D

Yes, I have figured that one out. Anyone want a good deal on a 200 cfm fan and filter combo let me know.

Not sure on what I will get need to research it a bit. I have a fan speed controller already and it is turned to high.

Q1 is out side with what I believe are his clones, he will get the ax tomorrow when I am ready to transplant Q2's clone into Q1's 3 gallon smart pot. Not much going up but 2 to three can't be bad.

Q2 should produce 5 nice big buds, and two smaller ones, not sure about the clone, thinking I will need to do some super croping and LST. time will tell.

Hey GR,

Sorry to see those pics..no doubting the balls on that boy. It's been a tough week for us here I guess. Part of the joys of gardening I guess...

Have you tried feminized seeds at all? I had very good luck with them this time around (all four were ladies). I know cloning eliminates the need for sexing, and saves time and money from growing males and buying seeds...I just don't have the extra light or room set up yet to establish a mother plant or clones.

In previous years, I have also performed a 95% harvest, and then turned the lights back on 24/0 and turned the flowering female back into a vegging female...actually turned out very nice. It already had a very mature root system, and I was able to flower a full sized plant again in 4 weeks. I was unable to do it a third time though, the main stalk split apart on me.

Anyone ever try that trick?

Good luck !

ICB
