Thanks SME,

I will maintain the pH at current levels, and will increase the nute next fert period. Hope to have my cabinet finished soon so I can put the Ladies (?) under the SS400, right now I think moving them outside during the day has helped with growth.

I do have a question, I see a lot of close up pics, my cams won't do that how are they doing it?

Hi Gr865,

I had similar issues when I joined recently. I was initially using my cell phone camera, which provided pics like yours (not sure what you are using now). I now use my digital camcorder that has a 30x zoom, which provides some pretty detailed up-close pics...

But your pics are pretty good anyways, sometimes it's helpful to see the whole plant to help diagnose issues, especially when they are just starting out. I think the close up pics are best when looking at flowers!!

Good luck with your project, I'll be watching !

Hello, it just looks like your plants are going through transplant shock, and need water. Everything looks well the bottom leaves have always yellowed and fallen off for me as well. I do recommended giving your plants a 24-36 hour dark period when switching them inside once you are able to get them under the ss400, it seems to freak them out less.

Are you going to flower them when they are small? They will get much larger very quickly if they are outside for any length of time just a heads up. I'd say SME is right on the money about them tripling in size once they flower and the ss400 will not penetrate more than about 15" into the canopy well can't wait to see how this querkle turns out keep up the good work.

I wouldn't give them a dark period for moving from sun to LED, unless he's also flipping to 12/12. Flowering small is a good idea though.

Macro features are better than zoom when it comes to close ups but not all cameras have macro settings...

Hey PM,

Thanks for the shout, good to hear some encouraging words!

I have not had them outside the entire time, I am bringing them in at night and putting under CFL's. I know my growth in not that great because of the CFL's but all I can do right now.

I have decided on a growing method, my very longtime friend in NM has been growing for the past 15yrs. We just made contact again and he swears by main-lining, so I took the plunge and made my first cut will post pictures tomorrow. Did it on Friday and they are looking ok, have been gone for the past two days.
The transplanting seems to not have effected them at all, in fact they are loving it. I heard them giggling when I got home.

Well we will see, hope they are both ladies!

Day 24 from seed. Hope to be under the SS400 by week after next. Have three orders to build and deliver by the 28th, busy and time is running out. I will make it!

They seem to be doing very well between the sunlight outdoors and the CFL's at night, but I think putting them under the SS400 will make a big difference.

I have been reading more and I think this Main-line method will be a lot of fun and if it turns out like my Bud in NM says his have then I will be real happy. I should end up with 8 main short but dense cola given the opening up of the canopy during flowering. If anyone has used this method and has suggestions I would love to here them.

Got some pics this morning.

The Ladies after 2nd node trimmed off, left the fan/sun leaves on the node until I train the 3rd node branching.

I will remove the sun leaves at 2 node when I tie down the shoots at 3rd node. This will leave only the two fan leaves at the 3rd node and the leaves on the new shoots. For those of you who may be interested in this method of training I will post or send to you in and IM.

Again comments and help would be accepted with gratitude!

Need explanation:

watered today with adjusted rain water, pH 6.55, drenched and runoff was a pH of 5.95 to 6.05. Is this normal?

Thanks

If the water coming out is lower pH than the water going in then the soil is acidic and you need to raise it.

So I need to raise the pH of the water going in, I am at 6.5 to 6.6, should I go to 7 until the pH balances?

Yes, or you can add some dolomite lime, hardwood ash or other amendments to the soil mix...
