I will take and post some pictures tomorrow. Very frustrated at the present. I am hoping for the best with Q2, but I do see some light at the end of the tunnel for Q1, explain soon!
GR
All human error, or maybe alien! Food for thought! LOL
Hi...I noticed that you are using Fox Farms Ocean Forest, and are also having PH issues...I mixed my FFOF with Fox Farms Happy Frog, but still am having nute burns, and then lock out issues, as I struggle with balancing PH. Sorry to hear about your problems with the lights...but believe me, we all go through challenges! It's a fun hobby...as SME says, just keep on keepin on!! We will be watching!! ICB...
Well, as I stated yesterday my CLF fixture broke free from it's chains and landed on Q1, at first I thought it had only broken off one of the two main shoots of the main-line plant. But alas, I was wrong, it broke both shoots. Look at the picture and you will see that both shoots are missing. I had already cut all the lower shoots off.
There should be two shoots where the red arrows are pointing.

So with no grow points I figured the plant was lost, then I noticed this at the soil level of that plant. A ray of light!
Two new shoots starting at the first node where the seed leaves were located.
Now I will let this grow out to three nodes and start the main-line over again. Big smile here!
I just cut the two grow points off of Q2 and new shoots are forming, So this will be the four shoot picture. From here I only have to cut the grow points on the new four shoots when they form to get my 8 growing points.
Today is a watering/nute day. My goal today is 900 ppm and a pH of 6.8, I will catch the leachate and check the pH of it after it flows through the soil.
Sorry to hear about the CFL vs Gravity issue you had.
I did a little research on this mainlining and am quite interested. Saw a great pic by pic tutorial on how to do it and the results.
From what I read, it's better to do with seeds and not clones. I guess that 1st node has to be symmetrical??
Keep putting up pix with arrows. It helps show where you cut better. I was thinking about trying seeds next go round anyway. I think I could get by with just 2 plants instead of 4 or 5 with the mainline method.

Q2, a few days after the light fixture incident the right side of the manifold was wilted and dying. It too was damaged in the broken light fixture incident. I tried taping it and it did not work so I removed it. Now Q2 is taking off and I will grow what is left of it out.
Well that's the latest update. Should move the plants into the cabinet this weekend and start using the SS400 at that point. Now if I get lucking and both plants are females I will at least salvage the grow, may not be the best grow but it will be something to encourage and get ready for the next grow.
At least the color looks good and healthy. If it's a male it wouldn't matter if it was damaged since you'd have to start over anyway.
Remember, it's just a plant and you can always grow more...

Too bad CLW doesn't make a light that would give me as much energy as my grandkids have.

Well They seem to be surviving, how I don't know. One thing I do know is that I tried to start the process too soon and marijuana plants are no match for light fixtures and gravity.
Continue to trim, per instructions on Main-lining. Not sure if I am going to try to do a 4 or 8 cola plant on Q2. Q1 has not grown back enough to decide what to do there. But here are the pics.
GR, your pics are amazing! Very impressive what you have done here. I am way too much of a newbie to even begin to try something like this, but hope after a few more crops, I will be brave enough to try to mimic this. Cannabis is, afterall, a "weed", and should want to grow and survive regardless of what we or mother nature does to it! I can see how effective this would be to get multiple colas and maintain a level canopy for the best light exposure from our LED lights! Thanks for the great ideas!! ICB!
