Thanks Curt, my buddy was the one that talked me into this. He has been doing it for years in NM, He sent me some amazing pictures. So I said what the hell, lets give that SS400 a try on it. Well I will be putting them under the SS400 next week. I am not sure if the moderator would allow me to post the tutorial on the method but if you will send me a private message I will send you the link to the tutorial.

Well even though I have not finished the cabinet I just got to antsy to get the plants under the SS400, so I set it up in a closet. Wow what a light, very bright, and looks like a performer. One thing I noticed right away is the heat difference. The closet it about 6 degrees hotter on average compared to the rest of the house, 82 to 76/77. I have a fan blowing into the closet and one blowing from the main portion of the house into the room the closet is in.
Couldn't wait to get them in pictures, I know they look better with out the light on but had to post these.
The reflective material in these pics are two pieces of sheet metal, my cabinet has mylar inside, it is just about ready.
Q1 and Q2 under the light for the first time.

Look back at this plant in the pics from my 8/22 post, "Two new shoots starting at the first node where the seed leaves were located." 8-22-13 Q1 - 3 - 1.jpg

This is Q2, I just trimmed it up and water both plants.
Q2 is in the 4 shoot stage now, will trim up to get the new shoots going in a few day, need just a bit more growth first.

Both plants were watered today with pH'ed water (6.8), pH of rinsate was 6.4 still low so I will continue watering with the 6.8 pH water. I also added some GH Roots and Cal/Mag.
Well, today I transplanted the Ladies (?) into their permanent resting place, 3 Gallon cloth Smart Pots. Even though I just transplanted them into the 3/4 gallon pots a few weeks ago the roots were already rapping around the sides and bottom of those pots. Wow, pleasantly surprised at the rate of root growth. I also did a nute treatment, GH nutes, 1320 ppm, pH 6.65. The plants weren't completely dry but I needed to do it now as I will be out of town for three to four days over this next weekend. So it was an intentional over watering, they were not saturated but just not totally dry. I will be doing some mainline trimming this Friday before I leave town. Will post some pics either Friday or when I return early next week.
Overall health looks good, saw an immediate response to the SS400 when I put them under the light on 9/1. I should see some very good response with this transplant and fresh to soil for them roots to roam around in and find all their needed nutes and water. Since I see them multiple times a day it will be good to get away and see the progress after 3 to 4 days. They are now on day 39 days from seed and even with all the problems with CFL fixture and gravity, slow start and newbie mistakes they don't look that bad.
Resting after transplanting and a good nute bath.

Not sure I will be able to do the Mainline on both plants, uneven manifold at present.
Well that's about it for now, did get to work on the cabinet this last weekend, coming along nicely considering I am not a carpenter
Always keep an eye on the basics, temp, pH, humidity, etc. If you know those are good then diagnosing other problems is easier.

"If it wasn't for bad luck I would have no luck at all!" I will explain when I get back into town on Monday. Good news is not all is lost. Peace out, and have a gr8 weekend!
So, last Friday I needed to water because I was headed out of town for a few days. I also needed to crop the plants to make four main shoots. All was well, I completed Q2 and was working on Q1, i cut back the upper portion of one half of the plant leaving 2 main stems. When I was cutting back the other side the stalk was extremely thick and when I put down pressure on the stem with the razor it cut right through and the cut off half of the second shoot. So that left me with three main stems on that one plant. Well I have decided to continue to shape the plant into a 8 bud mainline and see what happens. As I said, if it wasn't for bad luck, etc, etc, etc.
Q1, note left side lower shoot was cut off. Well still do the best I can with what I got.
