I'm not belittling anyone, your post wasn't clear and a phosphorus def doesn't have to be caused by pH either. Your post mixed the two issues up and could be confusing for those don't know the difference. My reply was factual, educational and without any malicious intent.

Yes, there are a number of those charts, I've posted one in the forums myself. :D

Hope that helps...

Why can't they act like adults?

EDIT:
After reviewing logs, now I'm not sure if he was throwing a hissy fit because he didn't like my reply or if he was mad about the anti-spam blacklist blocking him for whatever reason. Sometimes users and spammers share the same IP and members can get blocked erroneously but the proper response to that is to PM an Admin so we can try to help, if we can, not to throw a fit and edit out all of the posts.

Again...we act like adults here.

Now...back to ItsCurtisBaby's unhijacked thread.

Phew...I went away for the weekend, and it looks like I missed out on all sorts of excitement>>...well, timing is everything they say! By the looks of things, I missed out on some choice controversy...but now that all of Medgrow420's comments are all edited out, I just have my imagination to run with!!....oh well, I don't know why some folks get uptight or upset over differences in opinions...life is too short to sweat the small stuff. I think the vast majority of us here are very cool, and are just looking to share information and be helpful to others in pursuit of learning about our hobby!!

Thanks for the advice on the teas guys...I already had earthworm castings in house, so I did top dress them before I left for the weekend. I will be checking in on the ladies tomorrow morning, and post some new pictures for my weekly update. I will be getting a few more supplies as well, so should be able to run with the tea tomorrow...

Interesting thoughts about molasses...I had a friend who used to add molasses and orange juice to his ladies as he always thought they became sweeter and had better flavor...not sure I see the biological reasoning there, any thoughts?/

Pics to come tomorrow!

Be well

It doesn't matter anymore but it was basically a rehash of what I covered on page two but the post infused two issues without being clear so I clarified parts and he got pissy. I tried to calm him down but you saw the result. I'll clean up the mess in your thread later.

Feeding them something won't make them taste like what you feed them and I doubt citric acid is very good for them either.

Below are the two processes in which plant roots select and deliver only
minerals.
1. cell membrane of endodermis provides for selective absorption:
2. active transport proteins move minerals against concentration gradient
from water into cytoplasm

There are many people who strongly believe that they can change the flavour of
their buds and there are also companies who sell so called products, but every
Department of Biological Sciences, are satisfied that wanted flavourings are not
absorbed through roots.

That's from 2001 but I doubt that's changed. There are additives that claim to enhance/change flavor/smell but I think it's a scam.

Thanks SME..I took several biology classes during my undergraduate studies, (Decades ago), and the entire concept of flavoring plants with sugar or juices just seemed to be scientifically impossible to me too, from what I could remember anyways!!

So it's time for my weekly update...I miscounted the days since flipping to 12/12 last post, it is day 49, but only day 29 days since fixing the light leakage problem......the girls look quite happy overall this morning, I think they enjoyed the worm castings I top dressed them with on Friday...The CBD Critical Mass continues to lead the way, really finishing up nicely....36 full flowers with frosty tops...just dripping with resin...I think that may be attributed to turning the UVB light on a little early.

The NLB and Blueberry seem to be filling up very nicely, hopefully a sign of a great month to come!

The White Rhino seems to be lagging a bit, a lot of learning going on this time!

Seeing some curling and burning of the leaves on the White Rhino...I did notice that my filter for my RO water needed to be exchanged, as the water had slipped to about 50-60 ppm instead of 0, so maybe some of the salt from my well got through??

Any thoughts or feedback welcomed as always!

I see issues with all of them but the NLB seems the worse.

Let's go over the basics again: we talked about pH earlier in your grow so where is it now? Day/night temps? Humidity? Nutrients/additives and feeding schedule?

Hi SME,

Yeah, I have been seeing some leaf damage these last two weeks, I guess I was focusing on the bud development. SO, back to basics...

The PH seems to have settled down, 6.8 going in, 6.3 coming out.
The temps have been holding steady at 80 lights on, down to 65 lights off.
The RH is now steady at 40 lights on, 45 lights off.
I top dressed them with earthworm castings last week...buds seem happy, plenty of red hairs and clear trics, but the leaves actually look worse.

So, fed for the first time last week...Fox Farms recommended not feeding for 60 days...I'm using Jobes Organic Tomato & Vegetable water soluble food...3-0-4...has fish protein, kelp, Sulfate of Potash, mycorrhizal fungi and bacteria...I am extremely limited in local stores, so had to get this at Home Depot....will this be ok with a month to go, or should I go on line to order something better?

Finally, I just purchased an additive called Superthrive...I've read a lot of people have good success with this...any thoughts??

Trying to get to the finish line here, and don't want to screw it up being so close here!

Thanks so much,

SME, I wanted to make my last post a little clearer...I know that you aren't a "soil" guy per se, but you have probably forgotten more than I will ever know...

Fox Farms Ocean Forest and Happy Frog are supposedly both filled with enough nutrients to last 30 days...has fish, dolemite lime, earthworm castings, bat guano and a number of other goodies in it. I planted my girls in their first pots for thirty days, and then transplanted them into much larger 5 gallon pots, ergo the 60 days with no feeding...

I initially thought that tea would be sufficient, but a number of articles have said that the tea should only be in addition to feeding, which caught me off guard, and is probably the reason why my buds have been lagging a bit in development and am now seeing leaf damage.

Finally, the instructions say to feed once a week, or every other watering. I water 2 gallons of RO water every third day, so plan on feeding every 6th day...same with the Superthrive, once a week...

Thanks!

Don't sell yourself short, you might be the next Cervantes if you wanted to. Back when I first started growing the results were crap compared to what comes up now because I didn't know what kind of food or how much they needed. We often used whatever was there, we'd just dig a hole and plant if we has some fertilizer around the house we might throw in some in too. It's a wonder they lived and sometimes they didn't. ;)

Yeah, I never used bagged soils when I did soil but it seems to have the kind of stuff that should be in a good amended soil. Do they list a N-P-K ratio on the bags? 60 days with nothing added may not get you the best results even if it was loaded to begin with.

The food you bought might be great for tomatoes but not for flowering cannabis. It has good stuff in it but not enough (3-0-4) in the right ratio. You don't have near enough P or K. I'm not big on the whole "it's gotta be organic" but if you are then look for a product (probably online maybe a plant nursery or home depot) called Botanicare - Pure Blend Pro for Soil (1-4-5) As you can see it has a much higher P and K number or if you aren't anal about organic you could check out General Hydroponics - MaxiBloom (5-15-14) too. Either one will work well for the flower cycle but the PBP is organic, I think, and I don't know about the MaxiBloom.

Try bumping the pH in to 6.9 and see if we can't get the pH out up a bit. How much run-off do you end up with? Everything else seems ok...
