UVB?

Postby Caregiver » Thu May 17, 2012 2:37 pm

I just got my Solarstorm 800W light. It had no users manual so I wanted to ask about the UVB option. When growing marijuana when should it be used? Are the UV light bulbs supposed to be green? How long should the lights last and how often do they need to be replaced?

A lot of growing is more art than science and there's still debate over UVB. Some people don't use it, some use it the last 2-3 weeks and some use it during the whole flower cycle.

Since I don't own a SS/SF I can't answer the rest but...I'd imagine that you'd only replace them if they burn out like most fluorescents. That's just a guess.

YMMV... ;)

Disclaimer:
I still use HID and I'm NOT an LED expert. All of my LED knowledge is from other parties or research so I can't say from first hand experience one way or another. I also run a medical grow consulting business in SoCal.
