Yeah he induced at about 6-8" and they were already gettin really bushy. The canopy WILL be full...but that's the point right? He will probably trim and train them to promote the canopy not overcrowding. Just talked to him and things are lookin good...no pics today tho

Just got these pics. Things are going well. He added four 23w soft white (2700k) cfls to the corners of the 4*4' area because it was obvious that the exterior plants were not recieving the intensity that the plants right underneath were and he also raised the distance above the canopy in order to get a more uniform spread. PH has stayed between 5.5-6.1 and temps have been between a 68 low at night and 82 in the day it had spiked that high, he didn't know when or how... All in all the canopy is totally full and he is hoping for more than 1 g/w and I think led's have the potential for it. Otherwise HPS is still king...

Day 34. Humidity 50-65%, temps 66-77f, pH 5.5-5.95 since last update... He got it a lil more dialed. Good growth or so it seems...

Hey there hasn't been much to update and I was out of town for a while so I didn't get to take any pics til yesterday. He is 57 days in and has kept his pH around 5.7 and his temps between 64 at night to 75 in day. He went to 10/14 on day 50 and is planning on harvesting on day 70, after starting to flush with just cannazyme and boost on day 60. As you can see the plants are showing deficiencies but I guess its okay since he's less than two weeks from finishing. Keep em tasting good eh? The crazy thing which neither of us have ever seen are these white tops as shown in the one closeup pic. It is actual white growth, and the hairs are starting the turn red and the white tissue is not turning green. He could pull the tips off and have like an eighth of completely white weed. And it is covered in trichs as well of course. Craziest thing I've seen growing in a minute. Enjoy, oh and he doesn't wanna count his chickens before they hatch but its lookin like 1 g/w is going to be achieveable with this light. Ps the strain that's got the completely white growth...you guessed it, white siberian which I think he got from dinafem.

Updates? Results?

Just got final numbers in today. Official dried/manicured weight was 574.6 grams with approx 3 oz of that being the larger inner colas which got a bit of mold due to foliage density and lack of airflow...but he can make BHO with it and around 480 g is pristine. White siberian and dutch cheese wreak! Really quality trichs I'm guessing partially boosted by the uvb flourescent.

Thank you for completing your journal!

That's pretty good man, little over .9g/w but it's a shame about the mold. I wouldn't use anything that was moldy personally but it's his heath so...it is up to him. He definitely shouldn't share or sell it to others if it had mold.

What was the humidity like in there during flower? If he was running a decent dehumidifier it was probably due to overcrowding but maybe next time he'll run a few less plants so they have a little more room for circulation...or add a dehumidifier. ;)

After they cure, I hope you can post his smoke-review of the quality of the genetics...

My official feeling is that LEDs and HPS are fairly difficult to compare in the first place. That being said if I compared it to something it would be a 600w HPS. LEDs should be about 30% more efficient due to the lack of wasted wavelengths and I'm just not seeing it yet. They're coming along though... Yes SME I do think overcrowding was the issue for sure, he had an a/c running fulltime in the space which kept humidity below 61% even in spikes at night but in the forties during the day. Airflow was pretty high on exhausting heat but it should have been more turbulent directly on the canopy, esp considering density of growth.
