week 13 and day 42 of bloom using the SolarStorm.... 6 weeks into bloom cycle and the White Queen continues to fatten up.... the Nepalese has grown another 1" and is flowering but I don't think there will be much yield... I am planning on one more feeding and then just water for the last 2 weeks or so....

week 14 and day 49 of bloom update.... white queen continues to look great.... 14" from the SolarStorm.... flowers and crystal clear resin for now.... just waiting for the change to cloudy and amber.... again this is spec-ed to an 8-9 flower cycle.... sorry for the pictures under the light as all the ones I took without the light were blurry.... I may put the Nepalese Dragon outside to finish..... it is now 38" tall, so another inch.... maybe the real sun would help fill it out.... it has some flowers but not very dense.... it may just be used for butter.... will post a picture of it next time....

SolarStorm Week 16 Day 63 bloom.... White Queen is still filling out and resin is still crystal clear.... I have harvested a couple of small buds and they are curing now.... they weighed ~ 6g total before drying and I will weigh them after cure to see the difference.... the Nepalese Dragon has new life after a week outside.... if you think it looks crappy now, you should have seen it before.... 40" tall now too.... the heat here, with all last week over 100, has broken and finally some cooler temps have arrived and that should help....

Yeah, the white queen seems to be almost done, the pistils are turning red and the leaves are yellowing so it shouldn't be long before it finishes. How are the main colas looking? ;) What kind of cure are you doing on those test buds?

The nepalese being more sataiva dominate should take longer, especially outside since we're not even into fall yet.

right on time SME....harvest time for the main cola... saw just a few amber resin heads and that's what I was waiting for.... lowered the light a little to let the rest of the underlying buds continue to ripen... just made a simple dryer to hang them for a couple weeks ?.... any suggestions for the cure are welcome.... cure room is dark, ceiling fan moving some air and temp is mid to upper 70's and 36% humidity.... outside we finally have had some nights in the low 60's and days in the low 90's... can see a lot of flowers on the Nepalese.... also a picture of whats left of the White Queen after taking the top and some more buds....

Nice, back in the day we used clothes pins to hang them. Depending on ambient temps humidity it shouldn't take more than a few days to dry enough to start your cure. As far as advice goes, that depends on your preferred cure method. Air curing in wide mouth mason jars is most common and that takes about a month, with daily air exchanges. Water curing is less common and less popular but it's faster and I like the results but not everyone does. Either way, during drying and curing, keep it dark because light degrades thc. How do you normally cure your crop?

Well this is my first grow in 25yrs so nothing has been "normal" so to speak... I plan to air cure though... Hang them for a couple days and then in some dark blue nalgeene containers for the cure... Is it better to keep it out of the fridge for the cure ? ... The closet being used now is ~mid 70's with 35% humidity...

Yeah, with your temps and humidity they should be ready to cure in a few days. I don't know about those containers, I heard they can leech BPA, I'd get some glass wide-mouth mason jars, but experiment if you want. Most people cure in the fridge and exchange air daily for 30 days but if you have another cool dark place it might be ok. Heat also degrades THC.

REI Nalgene now is made of Eastman Tritan™ copolyester, the bottles are completely BPA-free... thanks for the concern.... I would no sooner use a glass jar and then drop it for sure.... into the fridge for the first buds cut.... some more may be ready in a few days as I am going to let mature to have more amber resin heads....
