Well I got my lights today Posted some pic's for you to have a look see.

Just a heads up, I have had them on for about 6 hours non stop and there is no heat, I have not even had my exhaust fan on for the majority of that time since I didn't have the plants in there until just a short time ago. My temps have not moved. It is not even warm to the touch, the unit itself not under the lights I mean.

The gs600 Pro-bloom is quite heavy I was taken back by it. I know I do not feel comfortable with attaching them to those skinny poles on the secret jardin tents. Sure it is a 5 X 10 but they sure do not hold upto 150 LBS a side like they claim. Oh well will just take a few extra hours of work to make things solid and bloom room will be up and running.

The gs300's had no issue in the 4 X 8 secret jardin tent.

Really a very solid unit, looks sleek and cool. I am really excited to see how it works out now

You will have a better understanding once I have some bloom results since I am in a 5 X 10 bloom (50 sft) and only running around 1650 watts, that would make me roughly 33 watts/sft.

I double checked the information again today, I found out that I was incorrect It was only 1 light and apparently it was a total of 3/4 LBS. Was Mag not the +. I am not saying that I believe it either, however the source it is comming from is well respected and reliable where I am from. So hey it could be possible.

Depending on how things go once this batch is done I might change things up and see for myself. However it will do nothing to increase the amount of cycles I can get in a year, so really it depends on the yield.

Yeah, i saw the pics and the light does look solid, I know a lot of people that feel more comfortable reinforcing the tent frames to hang lights. Maybe it's not needed but a lot of people agree with you.

33w/sqf will certainly be better than 11w but 12 ounces off 180w over 4x4 is just not believable. He maybe be able to grow but he fudges his numbers.

Yeah I agree with you I have my doubts too, but I am really more concerned with my results tbh. Like I said I do not know that grower, can't verify their claims, just know the shopkeeper and they said the grower and the information was solid.

I just dont trust have 3 $1400 (Each) lights hanging off those rods that seem way too flimsy lol. I will figure something out over the next 5weeks.

I just remembered that that was the w/sft for the bloom I was talking about, the grow is even less since it is a 4 X 8 and only running 2 gs300's in there. The grow is only 15w/sft.

Depending on how well my ladies grow over the next few weeks will get a better understanding of how reliable that claim was. If things workout as I expect, then there is a chance that they might have been telling the truth.

I mean your getting 12-16 Oz per plant and growing the same length of time as growers that I personally know and can say for sure 100% what results they get they never get even 3 Oz per plant. I tell them your stats and they might think it isn't possible (that is until I explain to them your setup and coverage difference).

Only way I will truely know is if I bother to get a few trays and switch over to a SOG method and jam pack as many little suckers in that 4 X 4 tray as I can (no 1 sft spacings). Not really sure I care to bother to take the time and effort to findout. I would have to be getting less then 1 Oz per plant average to even consider that, and even then I probally would rather just get another light or two and increase the w/sft. I have an extra 400W MH sitting around could always just pop that in. I don't forsee having an issue in the bloomroom.

There's no doubt about it, often, the difference between a grow that's OK and one that's awesome is proper lighting which is exactly the reason I don't want to take chances with expensive and unproven lights when I know, for a fact, which lights (and how much) do work.

Over packing a SOG can be bad too but you can always experiment. When flowering at 10-12 inches tall you'll need about 1/sqf, if you flower smaller, you might be able to pack more in so I guess it also depends on how big your clones are. YMMV...

Lol Oh trust me it wasn't easy taking roughly $9,000.00 dollars out of my pocket right around Christmas time to do the set up the best way I wanted to do it and could afford to do it. So I know exactly what you feel like when you talk of taking chances, I am currently taking said chance. Damn right I am hopeful I made the right gamble I have quite abit at stake lol Maybe that is why you misconcieved my hopefulness as that I was somehow sucked into the hype.

Yeah it can, I can just imagine how much the root systems were fighting each other for space and nuets. If I do end up changing to a SOG style I will for sure not do exactly as that grower in question did. That is like playing with matches while sitting on a can on gas while on top of a pile of TNT

Now that everything is up and running I have less time to research stuff like LED lights due to the extra work I was without over the past number of months while getting everything set up. Did you see the latest update?

You certainly are taking the chance and perhaps your confidence/hopefulness in LED will pay off. I hope it does, truly.

While there is s a lot of science to growing, it's also somewhat of an art. Maybe that's another reason I enjoy it.

Thanks I hope so too. I honestly do not have that much of a worry as I feel my target results are reasonable to achieve. If I were trying to recieve results like that ones that you gain on a cycle well then I do not think I would be able to achieve them, for a compounding list of reasons.

I agree that it is like an art, it is alot of fun to test out all sorts of ideas and theories in my own personal garden. It is like my little natural lab. Idk about you but I get that sence of accomplishment watching them grow all throughtout their life cycle.

Back in awhile off to the Doc's. Next update will be at next milestone, 3-5days depending on when they need feeding again or if there is a growth spurt.

I agree, it is fun to experiment. I reduced the size of my grow several years back, temporarily, so that I could run a breeding program for a while and I had my own strain that I called silly putty. I was careless and lost the strain later though but it was fun. I'd really like to get back to that again someday.

I think that would be a little bit too advanced for my comfort level, but would be alot of fun to do.

A few reasons, the first and most important was the smell. It had a odd smell during veg that I couldn't place for a while, one day I walked in the grow room, the smell hit me and the first thing that came to mind was the old silly putty. Next was the potency, it made me silly. Finally, "silly putty" was a better name than "DG x CA g2."

If you breed genetics for fun rather than commercial sales of your genetics it's not that complicated. It's time consuming and monotonous sometimes but fun and fairly simple. It really depends on what your goals are.
