Well, just had the "Big Scare".

BLAH!

I open the door and I smell electrical something.

OH SHIT!!!!!!

I have the A/C split into three outlets on a heavy duty extension and my UPS is DEAD, the pumps are off, and my cloner is OFF.

Turns out a 24 volt xtfmr I use for the fogger shit the bed.

It took out a multi outlet box (fried the switch), drained the UPS and pissed me off.

I am sure the fogger shorted out as that is the common failure.

At least it wasn't the light!!!!

Ouch! Some of those ultrasonic foggers have been known to short out but I just assumed it was the cheap ones. I thought mine had a replaceable glass fuse (like in an older car) but it doesn't so I'm going to make sure mine has a small breaker in between the PSU and the wall plug to be safer.

Glad your light is ok though...

That was the first thing I thought, my hot shit venting failed and the light burnt to crap. :o

I have had these foggers short out before and they take out the cheapo transformer also.

This time it took out an unfused transformer that was rated higher (my replacement).

In anticipation of this I had been gathering parts and got some bitchin outdoor low voltage transformers, amp and voltage meters to boot.

I guess I need to get some in line fuses now also.

This what replaces two transformers.

Inline fuses with all the outputs (3 amp).

The fogger shorted out.

Here is the culprit.

Notice how the soup (which is very caustic) ate the crap out of the plating and metal.

Well this event definitely did a # on the plants.

BLAH!

They are recovering, but they took a hit.

That is the big caveat of hydro, things happen very quickly.

Here is a pic of the start of week 3 in bloom phase.

You can see the plants really took a hit when the fogger failed.

I can't decide whether it was the smoke from the transformer or the soup warming up or a combo of both.

Whatever, it left its' mark!
