Beautiful plants. I dont grow for some dispensary, to sell etc etc I grow for myself. For myself I could really care less about the 1 gram per watt. I bought the Solarstorm 800 because LED are much cooler in my mind then any other kind of light. Its high tech. Im just a average grower growing in my house and its a kick ass light for that.

I agree; they are looking real good.

You should care about yield, at least to an extent. Even if you're only growing for yourself, if you maximize yield you may need fewer grows per year or be able to meet your needs with fewer plants. Ask yourself, would you rather have .5g/w, with the same light or 1g/w? Either way, the light is on for the same number of days, either way the fans and cooling have to be on and, either way, they still have to be fed and watered. Personally, I'd prefer to push the plants to their limits since I'm paying the same either way. Many people claim they don't care about yield but most really do.

YMMV...

<shrug> not really concerned about it. Growing is just a thing not a all consuming hobby. They always turn out generally pretty good and I think I've weighed it once. I smoke like a half a bowl a day at most and usually the weekends. Whats it matter to me if its 2 ounces or 3 ounces. Not to much. Still is a lot for myself. I grow a bunch of herbs and veggies on my big deck as well. Sure I could do all sorts of things to boost the crops but when 2 tomato plants give me 3-4 months of good sized tomato's with some minor manicuring and miracle grow plant food really doesnt matter to me. If I was growing for a dispensary, or collective sure it would matter but really all I do is turn on the lights and water/feed them. Thats about all the interaction that I have with them. I don't really obsess about it, not into the sub culture really, attend no nadda. :)

The whole reason I got into it was because I never had done it lol. Thats how I view everything in my prism. Once I get into it I wanna learn all about it and mark that block off on the list. When I was 18 joined the Marines did that for 12 years went to two wars, worked at Embassy's for 3 of those years. Destroying America's enemies and breaking his things is immensely rewarding :) Could of retired only had 8 more years till 20 got promoted rather quickly but then it came to a time there was nothing left for me to do cept sit at a desk twiddling my thumbs. So it was time to bounce.

Growing is just a small facet of my life. I know its big to others which is cool but just another thing to do. Its like my veggies I grew this year. I actually only ate the tomatoes. All the rest I gave away. I grew them because I never had.

Again, if you maximize yield you can stock up enough meds that you can skip a grow and save electricity, nutrients, etc.

So, once you get into something you want to learn all about it but you don't want to maximize your yield? Isn't that part of learning? Isn't learning how to get maximum results part of it? It sounds like you're trying to reduce expectations.

Sorry, I just ain't buying that but you can stick to that story of you want. You may not be "obsessed" with yield but EVERYBODY would take more over less given the option.

Oh, thank you for your service and Semper Fi, BTW. I was Army but I still appreciate all of the branches, even my jarhead brothers. ;)

I will stick to my story because if you have seen all my grows there never more then 3-4 plants usually 2 and I have way more equipment then I needed. I make decent money so that was never a issue on gear. What I produce is plenty and makes me happy. I dont do any lst really, no scroging, no nada really.

I have a sports car. I could trick it out to "maximize it" but its not required nor needed. I have a pretty fast desktop. I could overclock it to get a few more FPS but its not necessary. Thats pretty easy to do as well but no thanks.

I appreciate the Army to but if you really want the enemy destroyed you call in the Devil Dogs :) Its why Bush and Obama use the Marines so heavily :). Its like the all in one branch...got Carriers, Fighter Bombers, UAVs, Infantry, Cobra Gunships...a little of everything. The only thing Marines dont have is heavy bombers and subs for the most part. Even got M1A1 tanks. Usually we dont ever loose either.

I never said it was about the money, what I said was...with everything else being equal, given the choice of more yield or less; everybody prefers more so, clearly, people care. If people didn't care about yield they wouldn't spend big bucks on lights, nutrients and other growing supplies when they could just use other things.

The Marines are a tough bunch, no doubt about it. Too bad the Marines have to depend on the Navy (also appreciated) to get around though. ;)

Oh, I know how to motivate you into caring about yield! If you were Army you *could* get 1.1+g/w...but you're not. Poor Marine...

(if station2 wants, I can split off the "yield" debate to another thread, I do get sidetracked but I don't mean to hijack)
