Would help to know your ph, but if you have brittle curled leaves and/or leaves falling off then I think nutrient burn is the most likely culprit. so yes i think it couldn't hurt to flush with a low ppm solution, or even just water. If it seems to respond well and the problem start going away, then you could ramp up the feeding again.
I don't use bottled nutes much at all because I put everything the plant needs into the soil mix but if your soil has no built in fertilizer then you def need them. My initial concern was that your soil medium (if your using something like fox farm bagged soil) might contain ferts in addition to what your feeding it, in which case over feeding will likely occur if you don't compensate by lowering your amount of nutes accordingly.
The plant doesn't look too bad though so I don't think it will be too hard to correct. :)

8 weeks of bloom

Been awhile. Busy setting up another grow tent, and repairing the current one. But the overall grow is coming along fairly nice.

A few weeks back I ran into some possible pH issues and/or some kind of deficiency. One of the ladies was hit pretty hard from it and was definitely stunted. I considered chopping it and calling it a loss but the colas developed into some decent sizes. The other lady has been rolling along fabulously, showing only minor issues of a similar defunct.

On top of that, about a week ago while I was working in the tent. The left side of the light hanger snapped and nearly knocked my head off/crushed my ladies/broke a very expensive lamp. Ghetto-rigged it and through up some duct tape. 3 days later I check back in the tent and the other side of the hanger snapped, luckily my duct tape held it on the other side.

Long story short, I duct taped that shit out of both sides and ordered a Gorilla Grow tent.

The UV bulb has been on for less than a week, and I have definitely noticed an increase trich production. Buds are very pungent, and very solid.

Considering picking up another 400 SS as well. =]

Lookin Pretty sweet! I'm glad you didn't chop... If the lady on the left was the one with the nute problem it doesn't look like her buds suffered much for it. Sorry to hear about the accident but glad everything pulled through in one piece ( except the tent  ).

Hey I have a question--when is the time to turn on the uv? I just turned mine on in week 4 but Its causing high temps and in wondering if it needs to be on yet. Anyway buds are looking great hope mine turn out that well in a few weeks!

juicestain: Yes, I see what appears to be serious nute-burn on the plant on the left but it's hard to see with LED colors, pictures with normal lighting might help diagnose issues in the future. ;)

How much longer before harvest? Are you going to flush first?

Dusty: Opinions vary, some people say it helps all through flowering some say the last 2-4 weeks but either way the UVB shouldn't be that hot, they're just small fluorescent tubes. YMMV...

Thank's guys, I think I'm done feeding it and I will start the flush possibly next week. They say to turn the UVB bulb on the last 2 weeks of flower, and I turned mine on just a few days ago. Increase in trichomes but no change in heat. I think i'll pull these in about 2 weeks. Unless anyone has some extra information? Thanks for checking it out fellas.

Couple more days until chop. Here's a few close-ups of the better looking chick.

couple of the colas have minor light bleaching. It's weird though because there are some colas that are closer to the lamp that do not show any sides of bleaching. Must be something with where the colas are placed under the lamp....

Really looking nice... And I love the purple hues. Gorgeous color.. is that a characteristic of the strain?

I have been having similar pattern of bleaching... I burnt a few tops that were close but they didn't bleach, while other tips that were further away with no browning got the bleaching. I hope someone gets to the bottom of this, hehe.

Nice looking plants bro! I've been seriously considering the 800w and to see the 400w pull that off:)
As to the "bleach tips" those are actually Hash tips!
And taste as great as they look. Just look up had tips on google an I've seen some videos on YouTube.
Basically it's the 660 red but the 665 red the solarstorm has seems to work great.
Plus the uvb really helps,There was an article in hightimes or one of those magazines.
I'm sure I still have the article. If you would like me to post please say so:)

Again awesome grow and thanks for the posts and pics it really helps decide I was concidering the blackstar 900w but screw that solarstorm all the way!

Normally I wouldn't approve a post that digs up a thread that's been dead for several months but I let this one go because of the "hash tips" concept. While it's true that trichomes can be so dense that they hide the leaf material underneath; it's also true that too much light can cause bleaching which is bad. Only juicestain knows which it was now.
