solar 400 feed 1

Postby jgrontas » Sun Nov 18, 2012 6:24 pm

Received my 400 watt Solar Storm 11/2/12. Checked it out and works fine. I have planted Cilantro,Sweet Basil,Oregano, Fennel, and sage herbs. I also planted seeds of Purple Tiger, Pineapple Habanero, Guajillo and Guinness's new hottest pepper Carolina Reaper. I started them in a dome 11/1/12 with a heat mat under Florescent light. Most came up but seemed to struggle. I decided to go ahead and put them under the solar storm at 2 1/2 feet and they loved it. i look forward to seeing the growth and yield I get from these plants using this light. Thanks
Jerry

Solar Feed 2

Postby jgrontas » Wed Dec 19, 2012 6:31 pm

Since my last post I have set up plants in two places. I am using the LED 400w light in one and a Metal Halide 600w in the other. I divided up the plants so as to compare between the two. I started all initially using the storm 400. I have pulled some of the plants out of each to take pictures in a neutral area with with ordinary lighting. The LED grown plants appear to be growing taller and faster. I have the storm 400 in veg mode to grow these. These plants were started from seeds 11/5/12. I use Rapid Starter in the water for now. Will add Bio Thrive starting January.
Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Jerry
