I'm currently in a process of research here, I dont know if there are a lot of people building ground up , but that is what I hope to do , Im going to use a number of red and blue cree leds - solder them into a big array...

I currently needing help trying to understand the driver calculations required.. ie: if im using a 30w ( at constant 350mA ) ( 12v output ) driver , how many 2.1Vf @350mA leds can I power in series ?

Any help or direction is appreciated .... I have gone through a number of calculators that arent exactly what Im looking for , and not being much of an electronics person doesnt help.

This isn't really that kind of LED forum, we've had a few people ask about building their own lights but there never has been much help in that arena. These forums are really more about growing with LED rather than building them but the general consensus is that it's more expensive to build one-off lights than to buy something already manufactured because they've already designed the PCBs and they have relationships with vendors.

One of the other members had put together a thread with links to some of the (non-spam) DYI information but your question seem more technical that what he was dealing with. Feel free to search the forums for DYI threads and see if anything there helps you.
