It's my "HeeHaw" luck. SME's law: anything that can go wrong will and frequently to me. :p

It's looking like surgery may be the only thing that fixes my back, for now I'm learning how to cope with the challenges.

There are some cooling options; none of them cheap. Oh darn, what to do with all of those flowers....yeah, what a huge problem to have. ;)

Start a new HID journal in the other forum! :D You know I'll help if I can; just give me all of the details and pictures...

I know, I've been thinking about starting another thread at least since this one is getting a little long in the tooth...

But technically I'm still "testing" the LED buds! Funny though, I can't really tell the difference between the LED and the HPS mmj. At first the LED buds tasted a little like they should have been flushed, but after curing up a bit they really seem to smoke/taste/feel the same as the HPS batch.

Leaf pics soon... in another thread.

10 pages is nothing... ;)

It would be nice to be able to have comparison grows lab tested. I've seen reports of LED meds being more potent but I have to wonder how much of that is expectations, pride and placebo effect. It could have slight differences though.

I wish I had a gas chromatographer. Think of all the fun and opportunities :)

We have semi-local labs that offer that service now but I'm not sure about the details. I've never done it but I may in the future.

I'm finishing my master's in biochem so we have access to three GC.

I never dared ask to use it for personal use.

Yeah, you'd want to be careful. ;)

Yeah I'd love to get some samples tested. When I started my LED test I had a buddy who owned a dispensary with testing equipment, but he sold just recently. I think I can have it done for $40 (each) at a local lab, but I'm still licking my wounds from a Santa Fe dehumidifier purchase...

Graduate work in biochem, Frank? No wonder your first grow looks so good!

Yeah, me too. I wonder how large of a sample they need and and what criteria they use for picking the best samples. I assume that even from the same plant, you could get different results depending on harvest times and location of the picked flower on the plant, etc. Testing could get expensive but it would be fun to know...

Haha, thanks :) Yeah, I'm a part-time grad student. And I think this hobby might be the perfect subject for a phD later, should I wish to pursue it. There is definitely a need for more scientific exposure on the substance.

All I really did is apply the scientific method to my grow, and treated it as if it were any other experiment. And compared to lab standards I did a poor job of it. SME was quick to point out obvious mistakes in my planning, such as the small reservoir, or the air pump being put inside the tent instead of outside... small things like that are details but it's ALL in the details. All of it. If I had not been in a hurry to start the experiment I would have read more literature and revisited my grow plans on paper before acting, but I just couldn't resist that long. ;) Thankfully SME has my back.

I'm compiling a lot of data too, and intend to do it for every single grow. In a few years, with a big enough sample, it might be useful to have that data to have a fresh look on things.
