The HID will penetrate better and those LED's would not be 62.5w/sqft; they'd be about 50.6w/sqft which is about 20% less. Don't get me wrong, 50w/sqft isn't bad, it's just less than your original plan. Try it if you want but, IMHO, you're going to have problems with that setup. I'm not a fan of micro-grows.

YMMV...

well, what would be an optimal one for space and heat? a 4x4 or with one 600?

i think im going to try this micro grow to get used to everything and then go 4x4 though so i have the basics but can work on yeild then but anyways night SME

There is no single "optimal" setup. It all depends on what you're trying to do but when people are dealing with such a lack of usable space I wouldn't suggest a perpetual grow. I'd maximize the flower room and veg+flower in the same room. No matter what you do, in that size space, you'll want to flower while they're small so there wouldn't be a lot of veg time. If you have an alternate source for clones then you wouldn't waste space with a mother/clone room right now either. Clones (here) just aren't that expensive.

I'd love to be proven wrong...so show me. ;)

YMMV...

Yeah i will try very hard, as for yeild, my outdoor plants from before were going to yeild about an ounce-ounce &1/4 each after about 3 weeks into flower, and that was maybe an hour or two of direct sunlight on a clear day, mixed 1/3 perlite 1/3 verm and 1/3 peat moss, with miracle grow for veg 24-8-16 and MG rose for flower 16-24-8 they were around 3-4 ft, but it gets too cold here for flower to finish properly, i got a good 1%-3% hash collection from the buds, but was still very lacking in weight and quality

I got on my computor and stubled upon something worth asking about,

water cooling for hid bulbs, ive looked over some forums about them and i think for the extra money, there worth it because passive ventilation in a 4x4 is enough to keep temps to 78F with a 1000w hps,

but because they are $400 with the no flo no go adapter i would be restricted back to the single oversized hood with both bulbs, but both in the tube shouldnt be a problem,

or should i just go 400w if i can get the water tube in canada?, the 400/600/1000w kit would then be able to do the 4x4 expansion with a bigger bulb and a switchable ballast once i get my system tuned,

Now you're talking a whole other animal. I do like the 1kw HPS in a 4x4 flower size. That assumes that's not split into veg/mother/clone areas too.

Water-cooled hoods are interesting, I considered them for a while but every hydro shop that I talk to about it all said they leak and that they don't sell many. Ice-Box uses a slightly different cooling concept, with a chiller+evaporator design. It's more expensive though.

Are you changing your plan from 2x4 to 4x4 or are you speaking hypothetically? I'm confused.

right now everything is hypothetical, friday im supposed to be getting paid, although im not getting my hopes up, so i should have $100 to buy one thing at a time, if i dont spend it on something to smoke :(

my plan is to start with the 2x4 and when i have a strain i like and have things dialed in a little i will go to the 4x4, but have a table and use 3x3 with an 8ft ceiling, my limit on power would have to be a 600w, i dont think i would need that 1000w for 3x3, but i never told u about the table, :P

those chillers, would one work for the two 250s?

600w in a 3x3 = 66.7w/sqft so that would work if you can deal with the heat. I would still skip the perpetual but YMMV... ;)

One 6" Ice-Box with a 1/4 HP chiller is supposed to be able to handle a 1000w HID but it's not cheap though.

as for cheapness, i have a quad that has a radiator about that size, im sure i could jerry rig it on there somehow, and i think i found one on ebay for 150, 5.8 inches thick!!!! OMFG...oh.....wait....thats with the 30w axial fan thats like 2" deep whew... and it even has a 6" exhaust built in 8-)

as for the light, im going to sacrifice a little coverage and go with one 400w for size and the extra $300 it will save me over the 2 250s, which will go into an Ice Box

Thank you SME
Good night and Good harvest :)
