For the smaller tents, would you go with a 4x SS100W vegging lights or 2x SS200W?

My guess is 4x SS100W will work better?

As for curing, I already have a drying rack, which seemed to me the most efficient way of using space to dry buds.

I was planning on running a small, sealed tent, keeping humidity at 35% and drying the buds on a rack placed in that tent.

Day 68

I spent about 10 minutes re-weaving the taller branches. Obviously in a best case scenario I'd want a head coming out of each hole, but I doubt this will happen, so I'm doing my best to grow an even canopy.

Here are pictures after the weaving, with the lights turned off so we don't get that purple taint.

I think they look really good and healthy, but like I said before, I have no frame of reference.

What I LOVE about my SS400W is how QUIET they are. The loudest thing in my grow is the frickin' air pump, by faaaar.

My question is: when should I stop weaving and just let them grow vertically? I'm two weeks into flower now.

SisterMaryElephant wrote:Here's how I'd do it based on the room size talk we had a few pages back:
8 plants - two 4x4 for flowering
8 plants - one 4x4 for vegging
8 plants - one 2x2 for clones
1 plant - one 2x2 for a mother

one 2x4 for drying/curing depending on how you plan to cure...

This leaves room for more clones and mothers without needing another tent for those and when you expand you can just add more flower/veg tents until you need more clone/mother tents. ;)

What's the timing involved between vegging and the cloning tent?

You take cuttings from your vegging tent just before you bring them to the flower tent?

I'm not a SCROGger but I'd assume that you quit when the screen is full. You can take cuttings from your veg tent or you can keep a mother plant for that.

The timing will vary. It will depend on strain, of course, but also based on how you clone. Some cloning methods seem to be a few days faster than others. I suggest that you build/buy a cloner and experiment with whatever genetics you plan on keeping while they're in veg until you know how long it will take YOU to get well rooted clones ready to move to veg.

I plan on building several different cloners and running them side-by-side under the same light relatively soon. My back is still keeping me from going back to growing full-cycle but I think I could handle a small mother and some clones until after my surgery. I might even get somebody local to donate the cuttings so I won't have to keep a mother right now.

So far I'm considering:
Fogger cloner
bubble cloner
coco cloner
perlite cloner
rapid rooter cloner
rockwool cloner

I've never had the best luck cloning, I've always had to start a lot more cuttings than I need for veg to make sure that I had enough rooted ones. I figure if one of these methods works better for me they might work better for other people too. Since cloning doesn't take 6-12 weeks I should be able to test a number of other variables too. I just need a shitload of tubs and domes. ;)

I've already ordered the parts for a fogger, so let me know how yours is if you go that way.

I went to the new space this morning to take measurements, and it's gonna be great. I'm concerned about noise a little bit. It's all legal, but the stuff is still worth a fortune on the street, so I don't want to advertise it. I'll probably have to treat the enclosures with Sonopan to make sure they're sound proof and a cali anti-vibration system for their flooring. The frickin' airpumps are stupidly loud, and so will the big chillers.

Once it's all running though... it'll be amazing.

Yeah, I have high hopes (no pun intended) for the fogger cloner too but...who knows? Perhaps one of the other methods will be better.

It'll be shame to kill those rooted clones from the experiment but I might be able to find local takers for those too. ;)

Yesterday I forgot to close the window and temps fell down to 65F in during night time, and roots were at like 57F.

Is that likely to cause damage?

Stress maybe but not real damage... ;)

I keep weaving the branches under the screen so that a head comes out of each hole. It's doing well, I'm just so scared the plants will outgrow the available height that I am quite aggressive in keeping them down.

I will echo what someone else said in this thread and mention that the penetration is awful. All the leaves under the screen are small and dying or wilting, no doubt due to lack of light.

Humidity is officially a problem now, goes up to 70% at night, so the dehumidifer is in.

Anybody has any QUIET airpump to suggest? My current GH pump (20l/min) is very loud, I will not be able to use them in high numbers once I get the bigger enclosures. Unless I build a soundbox for them... I`m thinking a plywood box lined with sonopan and holes for aeration would handle the noise.

An acquaintance of mine has suggested I get a trimmer for since I am in for the long haul. He says there is nothing more boring than manicuring popcorn buds.

I'm thinking that with 2 plants it's unlikely I will even need a trimmer. Maybe when I got a perpetual grow with 25 plants, but now? Doesn't seem worth it.
