Yes, LED does have penetration issues and your net is extra think blocking even more light.

The air pump noise is one of the bad things about *DWC, a sound box may help but I never found any silent pumps. Perhaps we should invent one. ;)

Manicuring can be boring and tedious but it's a skill that every new grower should learn before moving to machine trimmers which are more like a bull in a china shop. Some people say they can see the difference in hand trimmed vs machine but when you have a lot of product it's just another trade-off we sometimes make.

Hey Frank,

I spent the whole weekend trimming up some plants with a friend.
There is no better experience than having some friends come over, help you trim, smoke a pile of scissor hash, have some lunch, listen to tunes and just hang out while trimming up plants.

The thing i love about it is that if i have a plant full of trich's, i want to leave them on the buds and trim the uncovered leaves off.
With a trimmer machine you loose a lot of the good stuff that you have to go through a second process of reclaiming it!

Since you only have two plants, you have a good days worth of hand trimming there.
Not too bad at all!

If you get into production and don't really care about preserving all the good stuff, just get a uniform product out then the auto trimmer is for you. If this is for your personal enjoyment, trimming is one of those things you just have to get used to.

It is the second to last step before you get to enjoy the fruits of your labor!

I'm gonna need a screen and those bags to take the kief out. My 4 piece grinder has a screen for kief, it's the best thing for those Friday nights ;)

My doctor also suggested I juice the fan leaves since they're full of CBD. It would never have occured to me. Juice em, put in ice trays, and use as CBD shots/shooters. Superb idea for the medical user.

How many hours can it take to trim 2 plants, approx? Am I looking at an afternoon's worth?

I wouldn't be having trimming parties, the fewer people that know you grow the better for security.

My betterhalf's very supportive of me doing this, and my brother who is a heavy recreational user, will be able to help me out.

3 people should be able to handle 2 plants!

I agree, don't broadcast the fact that you have a grow!
Goes without saying in my world.

My friend is my grow buddy that takes care of things when i am not home and it is too much for my wife.

2 people to trim two plants that are large will take 5+ hours, maybe longer since it is your first harvest and you tend to over think the trimming aspect.
Just do it at a comfortable table and have comfy chairs!
It can take quite the toll on your body sitting in the same position for hours.
Also the scissors with a return spring are awesome!!
Buy the bonsai scissors as they have really fine, sharp tips that are great for getting into tight places!

Day 73

Res change made today. I do it every 2 weeks now, since the res is big enough to handle it. I don't do any top offs or anything of the sort. Just let it sit for two weeks, keeping an eye on PPM and pH. Saves me trouble and nutes.

I've been pushing temps further, 1F a week. At 92F now, no sign of problem. I'm trying to determine the maximum they can take.

Popped both SS400W back in, and the light mover is back online (I had to figure out how to interface the second light so it moves with the first).

I realized so long the room temperatures are 68F or less, my chiller can handle both lights. Still buying a bigger one, but between the new chiller and dehumidifier, that's another grand to spend on a 2 plants, so I'm doing what I can to space out the expenses.

What kind of signs am I looking for when the heat is just too much? So far 92F doesn't seem to have caused any abnormalities.
