There's no doubt, in my mind, that a 1000w HPS will penetrate further/better than any LED I've researched yet but the thicker the bush the harder it is.

You may have too veg your clones a little while if they fully root before you harvest. You can adjust cloning times, next time, if need be. ;)

I finally had time to snap a few pics. This is 7 1/2 weeks out of 10. So hopefully I will see major swelling in the next weeks..

Happy! 8-)

And RKYMTNMAN, this one is for you..

A while back you asked if I could get a pic of one of the root-balls in the Aeroflo...don't think I could without damage....but I did do the next best thing.

I pulled the blank site plug, downstream from one of the bigger girls....I was amazed!! But also convinced, these girls got way too big!! Top & bottom!

That is one mass of roots, ALL nice & firm!! Color is from the nutes....

Ahhhh, I have been reading a little about ways to increase bud size...specifically without additives....and I would like to know if anyone has explored this concept...

I have found a good bit of info on the idea of cutting the light cycle by an hour or so in the last couple weeks before harvest.... As with most topics, there those for it and those who say it is a waste.

Thoughts, Opinions, Experiences???

Thanx!

Today is day 55. Still steady numbers and still healthy looking plants...for the most part. I did eliminate a few plants that were lost under the cover of the bigger girls..they were getting no light & slowly dying, had a few small flowers but no bud development.

My 2nd fan controller died yesterday!! So I am back to plug/unplug for temp control...lol The first one lasted 6 days and quit....the 2nd lasted 7 days!!! Wondering if it was a bad run from the factory or could there be some sort of compatibility issue with the fan?? I have other things running on this same outlet and circuit and have not had problems with anything else plugged into this circuit.

Starting to see little white shoots on the clips I took last weekend. So I'm gonna use some of this waiting time in the next 2 weeks to prep for & plan out the next grow...

If the most bud growth and weight goes on in the last couple of weeks, with 15 days left on the calendar, I'm anxious and excited!!

And...

Happy!

I don't know why cutting the light would help yield. Plants grow using photosynthesis and when they don't have light they put their energy to use by stretching to try to get more light. Cutting the light to 12 hours initiates the flower cycle but light is what still makes them grow.

Murphy"s Law!!! With only a week left on the calendar all hell is starting to break loose!

Went in to check on my girls Friday night....and almost had to wade! I had a water line pop and by the time I caught it I had an inch and a half of water in my grow room....the tarp that I lined the floor with saved a lot of damage....but I still am having to tear everything out of there, piece by piece...saving the Aeroflo for last.

And if that wasn't bad enough....it took half the night to suck up all that water with my shop-vac, so I was up late and the girls were up late...I couldn't help it... I got up & went to check on things to find that the "flood" had popped the fuse in my chiller and nute temp had climbed to 78!!! Thank God it fired right up after hitting the reset!!! Live & learn....today I am building a small pallet to elevate my chiller 3-4" off the floor!

To boot, my clones are demanding some of my time too! I hit 100% on this batch and some have roots dangling 4-5" so I have to get them into pots, then tubs....today.

Checked trics on a couple of the girls in the Aeroflo and was surprised to find they were about 50-60% cloudy...so it looks like they will finish according to the calendar...even though the bud hasn't gotten big & hard, there are a lot of them....another week (If nothing else screws up!) and we will see....

Geee, thanx! But that is one membership I could have been happy without!

It could have been worse though.... Prior to setting anything up I put down 2 coats of Kilz sealer/primer...and then put down my tarp. The tarp runs min 3" up each wall. So the majority of the water was contained, except the area by the door!! That is where the water ran out and got under the tarp and to the basement below...

I have the room emptied except for the Aeroflo. So I have a floor fan blowing air under the tarp to get all the moisture out. Then when I tear down the Aeroflo for cleaning I will make sure there is no more moisture under it..... What a pain in the ass!!!

But Rkymtnman, maybe the crap does roll down the hill in 3s.....you had 3 hicups close to the end, and now I have had...

TWO FAN CONTROLLERS FAIL allowing ambient temps to soar...
PRESSURIZED WATER LINE BURST throwing my grow room and my world into turmoil...
MY CHILLER BEING TRIPPED BY THE FLOOD WATER sent my nute temps soaring near 80 until it was discovered...

I hope to hell that is enough and I can just check trics until finish!!! Today is day 63...hoping they pump up in the last week...

I hit 100% on my clones...so now I have too many! LOL But all are nice, crisp, white shoots. I have the first batch in net-pots with Hydroton and have them dropping their roots into a DWC tub with lotsa bubbles. Gonna try to get the rest in pots in the next couple days.

I would like to try FIMing some of them....When would be the best time to do that?? Can it be done as soon as they have roots in the water? I want to flip them between 5-6"....most are about 2 1/2-3" now, above the surface...

Happy!
