*I* would not get rid of the controller, the extra volume of water makes for fewer nutrient changes and adds stability. The chiller will take care of the heat but without an external res, you'll have to fill the buckets multiple times per day when they get bigger. I'd just put a larger res/controller outside the tent, chill that, and circulate through the buckets to keep them cool and full. That's the whole idea behind RDWC. ;)

Yeah, we warned about having the controller inside the tent, right under the light; it makes the heat load higher and raises the water temps. By removing the controller/res all together you also increase the heat load since you have less fluid and surface area. Seriously, an external res helps, I'd add one back in the system. :(

I like 65-68 for water temps when you get your chiller. I'd also add mycorrhizae to the system for root health. If you cant get a chiller soon, add a frozen gallon jug of salt water to the res to help get the temps down and change it out with another when the temps start to rise again. You'll need 2 or 3 in the freezer for spares. Root pictures?

Hey guys long time no see but here's an update of my grow. Got 3 plants that survived the pythium and got rid of it. I bought a osmosis machine and a water chiller and they both have made a difference. Here's some updated pics.

KosherKing is Back! Sorry guys I had to move and had all kinds of things happen. Anyways let's get back to growing! I completely changed my setup to a soil type drip system. All different strains invluding :cherry dream, white widow from greenhouse, kings kush, alien abduction, dinafem white widow , sour kosher, critical + autoflowering, underdawg OG, dinafem og kush, martian kush, critical sensi star, and 91 krypt. It should be an exciting show with no mistakes this time. Using veg+bloom 1 part powder feed.

Please start a new GFP journal in a new thread since this was abandoned so long. It'll be less confusing...
