Overcrowding will affect yield and sometimes health so I'd recommend it. You could go upto 3'x2' of grow area with that light; I'd give them some space. ;)

Can you give me some more info on how I can make a drip system like yours. I prefer to grow in soil and this really intrigues me as there are times when I am out of town.

He uses a WICK system. ;)

Here's how they work:
Simple Hydroponics, The Wick System

There are plenty of tutorials on the web... ;)

Hi Neh,

Sme is right. It's just a wick system and there are lots of ways to make them. Ideally, I'd make one just the same size as the width of my tub and as long as the light footprint allows. I've made a few in the past but lately I go back to the earthboxes, which tend to be sturdier than the homemade versions I've seen on the internet. Though you do pay more for an earthbox. If you're interested, you can order one or find out more info at earthbox dot com.

To anyone that may have been following this journal, I'm sorry for my long absence. If you've got little kids, you'll understand. Anyways, a quick update, and I'll get some supporting picks up in the morning. I've got two indica dominant, and two sativa dom plants (of course). The sativas looking ones (the two cbd crew yummies) grew right up into the light. I had to bend them over and turn this grow into a scrog....

Also a few weeks ago, I had a really bad fungus gnat outbreak. Crazy numbers, kind of out of the blue really. I hit them with a dose of Azamax but I think you have to be consistent with that stuff for it to work. Instead I went with the two inches of fine sand on top solution, which worked like a charm. Particularly useful in a wick system because the roots have plenty of access to o2 from below. That's all for now. Like I said, pics in the morn...

"Gnat Nix" works really well too, It's sharp (for the nats anyway) so you don't have to put it on quite as thick so it breathes better. Sand is probably cheaper though... ;)
