gfp with ss400 with already purchased ss800w peyote purple

Postby chemUniv » Sat Feb 01, 2014 7:38 pm

Will be up and running soon, just a little background information 930w of leds in a 4x4 tent which equates into about 57watts per sqft, organic high brix grow of peyote purple. I have a few grows under my belt with just the ss800w and wanted to add more light to increase yield as I have been focusing on quality rather than quantity with the past grows. I do not ph, I do not use salt based nutes, and not concerned with hps lights or what they can yield. I use promix hp with wormcastings added, and highly mineralize my soil with a special blend of rocks and such. I also use foliar sprays.

Welcome to the forums!

The total w/sqft is good but the shape still might not be optimal to cover the edges but since you don't care about pH, etc, you'll still like the increased light. ;)

Thanks for the welcome, glad to be here. Not that I don't care,( don't even think I used those words)but I have been taught a way to stabilize my ph without having to monitor it constantly. Salt based nutes are not my cup of tea, and as this is not an hps light forum this is why I made the comment that I'm not concerned with those types of lights and what they can yield. Don't want to step on any toes, or anyone's growing style. Just clarifying what I do. "All information that I use on this forum as far as my style of growing comes directly from Doc Bud, who is a great mentor and truly blazing new trails in growing . All of my success is a result of his knowledge and research."

It doesn't matter if you used those words, I wasn't quoting you and I'm not trying to argue semantics but if you don't pH you don't care, either because of apathy or because it's stable where you want it. You also don't care (paraphrasing) what other lights yield and you're focusing on "quality" (whatever that means to you) instead. ;)

You're absolutely free to do it how ever you want (it's your grow) but you really haven't told us much about how you do it, although you did mention mystery rocks. I've never heard of Doc Bud so maybe you assumed everyone knows who he is. I assume he comes from one of the other grow forums that we don't advertise here but who knows. The "blazing new trails" bit sounds a bit hard to believe but, as I said, we don't know much yet. :D

Perhaps pictures and details might help get everyone up to speed?

I'm looking forward to learning more...

OK, so I did a little searching and found out more about what you're talking about. High Brix gardening isn't new at all so the only trail he's blazing is the $75 "kit" he sells and he's only been growing cannabis for a few years so you'll have to count me as one of the skeptics. I'm not going to get into a full debate in your journal about it (if you want to start a debate thread in the "new led users" forum we can go at it there but I see problems with his theory although his plants do look healthy so it won't hurt anything either. :D

I love to be proven wrong though so...carry on. ;)
