Hi all, was hoping in desperation for some LED answers. There doesn't seem to be many uk suppliers that sell LED lights for growing, the information available is a mish mash of self publicity and old timers not wanting to change. The claims on videos on you tube are suspect to say the least.

Is there anyone who could point me in the right direction, re brands of lighting with a good rep.

As you know we are not allowed to grow weed in the UK, even for medicinal purposes, I can buy from a seed store on the premise that I am a collector of seeds. I have a 3ft square 2m high tent and am looking to change out HPS for LED due to heat, cost and curiosity. I am only growing autoflower so no veg stage etc just 18/6 lighting. I don't really want to order from the states as import duty and handling are extortionate as well as the security aspect.

Is there any advice available for a frustrated newbie who is slowly thinking stay with HPS for a few more years until LEDs improve???

Anyone have a link to a successful grow diary using LED that is not put up by a manufacturer or associates?

Most (maybe all) of the UK lights that I know of are chinese clones of other lights. I was talking to one UK lighting company that was working on prototypes of LED lights but I don't think they ever actually grew cannabis before.

I don't know which UK lights to suggest but I wouldn't bother with lights that only have 3w or 1w diodes if you want to flower top-shelf cannabis. 5w diodes have been around a while now and 10w diodes have been hinted at so we might see more of those soon too. If you have the HPS, you might wait on 10w diodes, rather than waste money on 3w or smaller, but they won't be cheap at first either. It is up to you, of course.
