440w ss First grow journal (absolute novice)

Postby brainhayes » Tue Jun 03, 2014 2:42 am

alright here goes, after reading a few of the other grow journals i am feeling a lot out of my depth but i am hoping to learn a lot from all of you.

I have a 2'x4' tent
ss 440w
and am growing in organic soil, using home made garden teas and compost teas.

i planned on growing two sweet mango automatics and 1 blueberry regular but 1 automatic never germinated.
i am also using the tent to start my fruit and veg plants for the garden once there are large enough transport them/

i soaked my seeds saturday before last which were showing signs of life by the monday and really starting to stretch out by thursday. i transplanted 1 to a 4 inch pot and the other blueberry to a larger pot(full size, probs a mistake i know). it did have some problems with the seed sticking to the first two leaves but all good.

i put them both along with freshly germinated cucumber, tomato beefsteak and cherry tomato in the tent last night for the first sleep over. having checked them this morning before work and again when i got home they are looking great! were a little sad looking before when i just had them in minimal sunlight.

i know i probably rushed into it a bit but i was so keen and generally like to bite of more then i can chew and chew like crazy.

would really appreciate any and all feedback and hopefully have some pics up this weekend

Cheers

Good luck.

Nothing's etched in stone. My take is the less you transplant autos the better. Not a mistake to put one in a larger pot.

hey all just mucking around with photo software to re size photos, but also have a quick question is anyone else having troubles with timers not switching light completely off? i have tried searching but i the best answer i could find was keep buying timers till you find one that does :? .

I don't think I've ever heard that one before, *any* timer should either be on or off. When in doubt call CLW support. ;)

just a few pics and updates.

plants germinated on 26th of may

the sweet mango auto is sitting around the 2.5 inch mark and the bc blueberry at around 1.5 inch. bit worried about the coloring on the blueberry starting to look a little yellow :\ . the run off ph appears ok i gave a good feed of fish and kelp and have lowered the light to 30 inchs away. also added sugar cane mulch as the top soil was looking pretty dry, not in these photos tho. also if anyone has any Qs please ask as i am not entirely sure of what i should be monitoring. thanks !

I see what looks like a *tiny* bit of tip burn on the sweet mango; be careful not to burn the seedlings up...
