I call bullshit on the product, it reminds me of the device that supposedly grounds your plants, supposedly "proven" by some study. I'm not buying the technology. There's a reason nobody uses them, you said it yourself, the concept is not new. The heavy-t grow show comments about them are pretty negative too.
Let me rephrase that: It's your money...but *I* wouldn't waste mine.
YMMV...
Disclaimer: I still use HID and I'm NOT an LED expert. All of my LED knowledge is from other parties or research so I can't say from first hand experience one way or another. I also run a medical grow consulting business in SoCal.
Hey, you have caught me on a good day for debate and lively discussion, but let's let them pros figure this out. Have you already done significant testing? No? Neither me, at all.
I will let these studies and findings speak for them selves.
Also, I feel the relative cost on most new technologies, is what holds many of us back, from taking giant leaps forward, with infant technologies... (This can be costly for us left handed Libran's, who crave devices.) We Have to be lead, rather than to become the leaders.
So, with that said, and yes, putting my money where my mouth is, I will wait for first hand testing, by people I know and trust.
Check back later, if you care to learn... How the Mini, does on a Cannabis crop. There are already Biowave machine vids on YouTube too... One particularly noisy one. Hahaha, not a very good reresentation.

Marketing propaganda/statistics doesn't work so well on me. The news does stories on Santa too...
Kind of like the LED claims that small LED grow lights can replace/keep up with much larger HID lights while some "scientists" claim they should based on academic studies, real life shows that they don't. There's much confusion regarding why this "proven" technology doesn't keep up with HID when according to the propaganda numbers/stats they should.
Are you going to buy one for your plants? Not me...
Like I said, there's a reason those things aren't everywhere...

I'd be curious to see some results. the first time I saw it, i must admit i chuckled to myself. like the famous quote"there's a sucker born every minute". it just seemed too simple to justify the cost IMO. but what the hell do I know?
redhot, do you have somebody testing it yet? what kind of process will they use to compare it to a control enviro? everything identical except for the whirlymajig?
