Here's latest pix. End of 3rd week of flower. Not looking too bad. Still having some leaf discoloring on SweetTooth . Ph fine and EC is pretty low 0.65 too because I had tip burn when I had 50% nutes 10 days ago. But the Chiesel which was the runt of the litter is turning out real nice. So far, so good.

That yellowing looks like a phosphorus deficiency to me, what is your pH and what kind of nutrients are you using again? Is the yellowing new or part of older problems that we're fixed?

I'm doing LF with GH nutes. I tried 50% strength EC=0.9 and had tip burn 2 rez changes ago.
Cut it down to EC=0.6 and tip burn stopped.
pH using drops is light orange'ish.
My theory: high elevation/low humidity. 8700 feet and 20% RH. And the reason I think this is that a different strain 2 grows ago did the same thing. All the main fan leaves yellowed from bottom up from beginning flower to end. The buds came out fine. In fact, probably the best plant I ever grew.
Lucas should acct for any deficiencies, correct SME??

I've never known anyone that had to dilute LF much but I also have no info on high altitude growing either.
You might want to invest in a real pH meter.
The phosphorus deficiency could have happened when the pH was more out of whack and it never really heals but if it's still happening now it maybe that the LF is diluted too much and it wants more food. You might want to research high altitude grows and see what compensations have to be made, if any. You can always run a humidifier to bump the RH too.

yeah, SME, I've never come close to any high EC's with Lucas or Ionic nutes. I've had to attribute it to elevation until more knowledge is gained.

I been checking out your journal. I take it that you have a good amount of growing experience pre LED??
What is your impression of the SS400 so far? Where are you keeping your ambient temps?

Hey Happy,
I would say I have a decent amount of experience. Just a hobbyist though. I want to be self-sufficient with quality over quantity. I started with just CFL's about 3 yrs ago. And then got a 90W cheap-o LED that left a bad taste in my experience. No penetration for flower but good vegetative growth under it.
Then I went to 400watt CMH. Which I really like. The spectrum is awesome: combo of HPS and MH. But with HID comes heat issues from bulbs/ballasts, etc etc.
So far, at halfway thru flower, I'd say it is equal or better than the HID. It is better in that heat issues are gone (grow room is 72 to 75). We've had some 80 degree days here and last summer with HID's going, my grow room was almost 85 to 90 with fans running full blast.
Also better is we have power flickers now during t'storms. LED comes right back on: HID would have to wait for bulb to cool before it would restrike.
I think the best part is that there is not the wasted spectrum of HID. HPS produces a lot of useless spectrum. The LED is dialed in to the spectrums that the plant uses.

Thanx for the info... My experience before this point was very limited and scattered...so in reality I am still a newbie and trying to learn as much as I can.. I had one previous indoor grow with Magnum LEDs that turned out so-so, but then had to take a break and pack it all away due to life.
So now I have reached the point where I have the time to devote to learning how to get this right and I'm determined to. I have never tried anything besides CFLs and LEDs so I have nothing to compare with.
I have had something to do with this plant for about 40 years...as an end user. Like you, I want to become self-sufficient, and achieve top quality results. Spending too many years playing "the waiting game" at someone else's mercy is a lot of my motivation.
I was wondering where you are keeping your Ambient temps, with lights on, because I have recently been letting my temps climb to 80-85 with lights on and haven't noticed any ill affects to the plants. A friend who has experience with LEDs suggested that I would achieve better results with the higher temps. And not knowing any better, I am giving it a try.
We shall see.....but I am watching them closely!!

Hey Happy,
You have the equipment to accomplish your needs and it's just a matter of time to dial it in for YOUR conditions.
For temps, I try to follow a simple theory:
for veg, hot and humid
for bloom, not as hot, not as humid and a 10 deg difference b/t lights on and off
this thing is a weed after all. it wants to flower at all costs.
