DWC saved the day Friday nite. Power went out for about 3 hours during lights OFF but they were fine in the morning. I almost had the generator out and then the power came back on..........
Hey man, do you home brew as well? Was this some of your own or at a local tap house? Just curious, I've thought about brewing...but I got more going on that I think I can handle at times!! LOL
When are we going to get some more pics of those sweet looking ladies of your's Rkymtnman?? Are the pics on here downloadable? Maybe print one out and show my girls what they are shooting for?? Hahahaha
Between pumps and power in the last week or so I hope your luck improves bud....I wanna see those girls through to the finish!! How much longer do you have? Mine finish up week 4 tonight... What I've read on mine says 56-70 days and I figure with all I have screwed up it will be at least the 70...
hey happy, no the single malt was scotch. but i do homebrew. it's like growing: you can spend a little bit or a lotta bit. and you will become consumed with it as well. you've been warned. lol.
Thanx for the tip!! I am already consumed with too many passions as it is...my latest getting the majority of my time...lol
Got all the parts I ordered for my room exhaust system...got everything installed tonight, hooked up and running about 15 minutes before lights out...whew! Glad I did a little reading on this one!! Almost made it a bigger project than it needed to be,,, Kinda cool that I can set different day temps & night temps without having to move fans or kick up speeds, open doors. And the sucker is so quiet!! Can't even hear if it is running over the Aeroflo. I will be monitoring temps closely to see how it does the next couple of days...but hopefully it will be one more task automated...to relieve a little worry and free up some time! Maybe get to the lake over the long weekend!!! LOL
Rkymtnman, you know from days in this area....around here home brew can mean many things...lol!
I DID forget about some Oconee County homebrew. Like with a pear or apple in a mason jar!!! I thought I had lost those brain cells forever.......
I did have a question about your Grochek; how often do you have to calibrate the pH part of it??? I like my pH drops: very simple, no calibration although not as exact as a meter.
Hahaha, I have a jar in the beer-a-tor downstairs from Blue Ridge....apple pie flavor...not too bad, but too much will hurt ya!!
I have only re-calibrated once or twice...For the short term I had to pick up a cheapie meter on Amazon(under $15)...I tried the drops but was always second guessing myself, so I opt for the meters. I had a decent Hanna handheld, I was using with my tubs and when I ordered the Aeroflo I thought it would be nice to have a monitor in the system so I ordered the GroChek...plus I figured when in doubt I could check them against each other. In the process of ordering and waiting for stuff to come in, the electrode in my handheld went on the fritz...only to find out that it can not be replaced without a soldering iron(I opted for the cheaper model!)..I tried the drops but had no confidence in the adjustments I was making...so I jumped online and have been using the cheapie, while scraping my pennies together for the Hanna Phep handheld WITH user replaceable electrode....which should arrive on Friday!!!
But when the cheapie and the GroChek don't agree I calibrate both....I don't really doubt the GrowChek...but I figure while I have the calibration solutions out, I might as well..... But like I said, I have only done this maybe twice since installing it....I like it and trust it so far...I think I am partially color-blind, maybe that's why the drops give me fits...LOL
Found one problem that I should have caught sooner. Sometime between last rez change and yesterday, one of the ports on my airpump stopped working. The 2 airstones connected were not putting out any bubbles. NO BUBBLES, LOTS OF TROUBLES!!!!
Had a lot of dead roots that were submerged but had a decent amount of new roots that were close to the net pot. Got rid of the dead stuff that pulled off easily.
Put the plants back in just RO water and hygrozyme. No nutes yet. Hoping that some new roots really pop out quickly. Got about 2 weeks to go and hope this didn't harm them too much.
Buds still look decent but not as big as I hoped they would be at this point. Lack of DO in rez is hopefully the culprit.
