EEK, Thanks a bunch. I am proud. This is my 1st grow with auto plants and my second grow over all. My 1st Grow was a photo strain by G-13 called Gigabud. I was very happy they way they finished, but the yeild was not as much as I liked. Apparently one should not believe the hype the seedbanks review describe the products. But I will have to say the smoke was superb!! Yes, they AKR's are fem. I am also looking forward to how this grow turns out. I do like the LED. Thinkin I might want to look at the solar storm 800 if I decide to jump up to something a bit bigger. Thanks, Briman

Hello all! Day 32 and the growth in both tents are AMAZING!! Tent #1 with the 250w MH has indeed stretched quite a bit and is showing a tiny bit of pre flower, so I flipped to flowering nutes and put in the HPS bulb. Tent #2 with the Solar Storm had had great growth as well as being a bit more stacked like a Christmas tree. Definately shorther but bushier. The plants under the solar storm also have pre flowers and are more so than in tent #1. I will flip to flowering nutes and flowering switch in tent #2 on my next feed in the next 24 hours. I cant wait to see how both tents do in flower. I dont want any plants too tall being I am running lower wattages of lights. I would rather have shorter plants to get the most light penetration they can. I might have to go with the SolarStorm 800 on my next purchase. Would any of you run an 600ish watt light in a 2'7"x 2'7" tent?? let me know what you think...Any questions or comments??
78* in both tents and 30% humidity, Now for some pics...

Hey Briman,

Those look really healthy. I wonder why there is so much more stretch on the hid plants? What distance are they from the light? I have noticed more stretch with Hps than led too.

I think the 800w Solarstorm is a little big for the 2'7" x 2'7" but you could probably use it with your current ventilation. I am thinking even my 3x3 is a little tight for a SS800w given what I've seen using an SS+SF.

2'7" X 2'7" with the SS800w would be just under 100w/sqft which isn't the most I've ever seen in a grow but it is quite a lot. I've seen quite a few reports of tight internodes with LED (in veg) but I've seen them with HID too so that could be strain/phenotype related.

YMMV...

Hello SME and Dusty! I have the 250w MH/HPS 12 inches from the tops, any closer and they bleach and burn on that little light!! My last photo period grow had massive stretch too. I mean when I flipped em to 12/12 and flowering nutes they grew a foot in a week. It might be the light I use. Not too shure. I myself dont care about watt pef square foot or yield. I just enjoy growing all sorts of things and give most away to friends and family. I never did really like smoking, but a hit once in a great while doesn't hurt. Thanks for the feedback. Cant wait for the flowering portion of this grow. I was going to flip the solar storm tent to flowering nutes, but I might wait another week to get a bit taller. i am going to incorporate a leaf tucking technique I read about. Auto flowers dont like stresses, so they tuck under one anothers leaves so all bud sites get great light. til next time...Thanks...

Virtually all genetics should stretch for 2-4 weeks when flipping to 12/12, regardless of what kind of light is used, that's normal. There are ways to try to reduce the stretch but usually it's a trade-off. Remember, they usually grow 2-3 times the height that they were when they get flipped to 12/12 before they're done. ;)

Thanks SME for the stretch info. I am learning as I grow. I will undoubtedly do photo period strains again, and will remember what you told me. Thank all for the kind words and will post in a few days with pics.
