Hello all, Day 38...1/2 way there and all is going just great!! Explosive stretch on tent #1 250w MH/HPS!!! Great looking flower sites. With the stretch, they should get ample light at the bud sites. I am turning all plants daily. Tent #2 is stil producing some nice bushy little trees with some great flowering as well!! Both tents have a rather musty smell upon opening them up, but thank the stars for carbonn filters, or the misses would make me pull the plug!!! Both tents are on flowering nutes and additives. Running about 730ppm. Any comments or questions, dont hesitate! Now for some pics...
Hello all, Developed a cal/mag issue. LED is deceiving to the naked eye due to light spectrum in seeing this. So, I would suggest turning the light off and looking at your plants with good old fashioned light. This happened litterally over night, and the only reason I caught it was looking at the plants with the hps tent. After reading blogs on Fox Farms Ocean Forrest, you need to add dolomite lime to it prior to planting(i did not know this). Your plants will do great in veg, but when you start flowering nutes, ph will drop and create cal/mag lock out. To combat this, I added nutrients with cal/mag and molasses and ph'd to 6.9 instead of 6.4, and today I will add a gallon of plain ph'd water @ 6.9 with a tbl. spoon of epsom salt to help bring the ph closer to where it needs to be. I will check the runoff ph and adjust accordingly. Also with the Advanced nutrients ph perfect, this probably helped lower the ph to lock out the cal/mag. I will get this under control!!! I got this!!! Hope this helps other growers combat this...Any questions or comments would be great. Will post pics sunday or monday.
Hey all, A quick update tonight. I have a serious cal/mag problem, and some ph swing. I fed the plants at 6.9 Sunday and the runoff came to 6.5 on the money. As you will see, the auto flower plants fan leaves are quite yellow and spotted, but the runoff is what it is. Cant learn if ya don't make mistakes. Dolomite lime needs to be amended into FF ocean forest soil or will drop ph through flower. It happened on my first grow of photo period plants and this second grow. The internet and Google are amazing tools!!! Some pics for your amusement...yeah...I'm a noob!!! Anyway, flowering up a pretty good for the mistakes. ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS would be much appreciated...
Hello all, I am still having cal-mag issues and ph problems. I have upped my ph going in to 6.8 and runoff is comming out at 6.5. I added dolomite lime to a feed last week and top dressed the soil with some as well. I also have just gone with straight water flush for the last 2 waterings to help, but as you can see by the pics the cal/mag issue has not slowed down, But the plants are still fattening up with the flower production and the are getting frosty with resin production even with the problems. Now for some ugly pics...
Is it just the old growth or does the new growth continue to show problems? How much longer before harvest?

old growth mostly. Mainly the Fan leaves. 70 days on most auto flower varieties. Looking at 16 days to that. Would you flush em and give em the chop at day 70? I know the last couple of weeks they will pack on the weight, but they may not with being a little deficient. I still need to flush em anyway. What do ya think? I checked all of the controlables as far as environment and ph'd nutrients. I have FF ocean forest ammended with Perlite and dolomite lime ready to mix for then next grow. Am curious to see if it is the soil needing more lime in it. I google'd FFocean forest ph and all blogs said to run up to 2 cups of dolomite lime in the mix before planting. If it does the same thing, I might have to go with a different medium. What are your thoughts SME?
I'm anti-flush... Maybe a for a few days in soil but I think that flushing is mostly hype.
I prefer hydro to soil; soil acts like a buffer and that can cause it's own problems. I plan on trying coco but even that buffers more than I'd prefer. I'm a fan of hydroton.

awesome!!! After I get done with this next grow, I bought 3 hydro grow momma dwc kits and that is where I want to eventually go. Kind of "scared" to make the leap, being new to growing, but I bought em, own em and after a few grows with soil will get to use them. I think it will be better IMO because when I add nutes to my water source, It brings my ph right to 5.8 on the money every time.(DWC sweet spot). Plus I have been going through a lot of ph up with my water source for soil. So DWC will be a whole new experience. Even After my GFP is over, I would like to post my first DWC grow here, and get your feedback on it. I do get that you have quite a bit of knowledge by your questions and comments to everyone on the forum and to me that is priceless!!! As for the LED from California Light works, I feel their product is solid and anyone looking to get into LED would need to look into this company. There are some great LED companies out there, but the price tag goes with em. I am VERY happy with the Solar Storm! So, on with the grow....will keep em going with nutes and such. I will try and keep the ph and cal/mag at bay to finish this grow. I appreciate your input SME and am finding out what everyone else is doing, may not work for me.(like the flushing for 2 weeks prior to harvest.) Thanks...
Sure, you can post more than one journal and we'll help if we can...
