Thank you California Lightworks for this opportunity to test your LED lights.
I picked up my lights this past Monday and met with George, the president of California Lightworks. Very knowledgeable and very helpful.
System I system is Titan Controls Flo n Gro. Nice system. Ebb and Flow.
Medium Clay Pellets
Lights (vegetative) I am using 2 T5 lights on either side of the Solarstorm. I tested the Solarstorm and its working fine. The picture of my setup shows I might need to get another Solarstorm.
Nutrients Used Clonex cloning gel for rooting. Rooted in Grodan Rockwool.
Transferred the Rockwool rooted clones to the Flo n Gro system today.
Currently the Flo n Gro res has Liquid Karma, Cal Mag, and Pro Blend Pro Grow Vegetative. All by Botanicare.
All opinions welcome and your advice and criticism is much appreciated!
I'm looking forward to seeing how things progress...

I have 24 plants in my the flo n gro. If I wanted to flower all 24 plants using the Solarstorm 400w, how many Solarstorm 400w units minimum would you recommend to accomplish this task?
The SS400w is probably only good for about 6-7 sq feet (based on the SS800w claim of 4x4) or a little under a 3x3 area, it's not really how many plants, it's how much area they take up. I generally suggest 45-50w sqf for LED, to get the best qualty, although the manufacturer claims slightly less. The 800w doesn't really out out 800w and the 400w doesn't really put out 400w either.
How big is your grow area? Shape can also change the number of lights and recommended sizes.

If that 8'x6' is all for growing, that's 48 square feet. The SS400w is about 310w output power so you'd need about 8 of them to give *really* good coverage. How tall do you plan on letting them get before switching to flower?

I think you'll have better results if you don't let them get too big. Overcrowding and not enough light are a very common problems with newer growers.
LST is a legitimate technique, try it if you haven't. If you like the results you can keep using it; if not, you can try something else.
