Me tink me may haf mistooken your last message.

Maybe you weren't suggesting it looks like the plants are showing signs of low ph. You were literally saying you see a bottle of ph down in the picture. I hope. Am I that obtuse? (If I have to ask I guess I am)

Now I'm annoyed. On account SME comment on ph down I looked for what's symptomatic of it and notices purple on veins underneath leaves, along petioles, and stems. Then I looked at P deficiency. The leaves otherwise look fine unless they're smaller than they should be which I wouldn't know and unless this is why my plants are smaller than what's advertised. The first thing I want to do is check the soil ph. I don't know how. I got a crappy Lusterleaf probe but it does squat. Plus a ways back Fox farm and General Hydro told me as long as what I'm putting in is ph adjusted I don't have to worry about it (famous last words). Everything I put in is between 6.3 and 6.8.

Anyway, any suggestion how to check it?

If it's off I can deal with adjusting it. But my understanding is P is less accessible in a high ph soil. I highly doubt this is the case. If the ph is acceptable I'll zero in on deficiency possibilities. But while I've used nutes sparingly I have fed them, more than they can expect to get naturally. I'm not with them now. Pictures forthcoming in a day.

Here goes nothing. Pix embedded.

If I didn't know better I'd say she looks pretty decent. Now that I've noticed purpling... But I can't say it's regressed since Saturday.
Temps 72* in tent. Soil temp I think similar. Main cola looks a little more organized. I have to figure out how to measure the soil ph. The probe I have is useless. "Experts" not proponents of measuring runoff.

Another question comes to mind. Flushing a 3 gallon pot, doesn't that call for 6 or 9 or more water run through it? All ph adjusted to 6.5 or so?

Normal female parts?

So many questions..........

Finally, the soil ph results dubious as they may be.

Measuring runoff 5.7

Using a Lusterleaf kit mixing soil, water, and their special magic white powder it matched most closely to 6.5

Now I'm in a pickle.

I decided if the purple was P deficiency I would have to negate lockout possibility so I rinsed Tuesday with Botanicare's Clearex solution in order to follow up with a feeding next watering. 2 days later I have more pervasive yellowing on plant 1, still predominately lower leaves but working higher. Maybe some droopiness?

Any suggestion?

I said that I was talking about the bottle but you had to go and panic. ;)

That said, your panic does tell us that you need to keep an eye on your pH so you know if a P def is due to pH lockout or just not enough nutrients. There's nothing wrong with measuring the pH of what goes in and comparing it to what comes out. ;)

I always just flushed with water but the flushing would explain the yellowing since you flushed away the N too. That coupled with multiple waterings in a short time and they might not be happy. Give it time to absorb the new nutrients but keep an eye on things.

I am panic prone but I made a fairly calculated decision without full understanding.

Anyway, I guess expected harvest dates are a matter of calculation, too. You have to anticipate weeks ahead if you're going to manage the feed schedule and implement flushing (water) 2 weeks ahead. I'm eyeballing June 15th as the heart of my harvest window so I'm actually not that off weaning the plants off food. That being said I gave Plant 1 a good feeding last night and Plant 2 this morning. Not quite ready to starve them. We'll see how Plant 1 responds. Plant 2 has recently been neglected, all my attentions on the larger Plant 1. Not very scientific of me. Now what I'm looking at is the larger but yellower Plant 1 and a smaller, neglected but greener Plant 2. I'd like to point out that for some reason Plant2 even though smaller dries out faster. And her PPM after runoff was higher than her sister. More stored nutes in the soil? Plant 1 always had more yellow fan leaves.

I was just playing around, I wasn't suggesting that you were literally panicking. ;)

...........forgot specifics. Fed 1 tsp each calmag, Grow Big, Tiger Bloom, 2 tsp Big Bloom, and a shot of something called Boomerang. Eat as you will. Your choice.

And, CLW watchers, I may have neglected to mention that I switched into bloom mode May 21st, Day 37, 10 days ago. Something I obviously should have mentioned any journal worth a hoot. And I flipped on UV yesterday morning just in case it's closing in faster than a speeding bullet.
