Solarstorm + 600w LED grow

Postby Luminosity » Thu Mar 08, 2012 9:48 pm

Hello everyone! I'd like to just start by saying I'm very excited to join the community here and can't wait to break ground with this behemoth of a light :D. I received my Solartstorm last week and just got everything set up a couple days ago. My flowering room consists of the SS and a 600w Blackstar LED, which I think may be on a bit larger scale than most of the other grows on the forum. I am relatively new to the field, I've only got around 8 months of experience but I'm a very fast learner and haven't had any major setbacks or disasters yet (knock on wood). Anywho, I've got a nice variety in the room, with some White Widow, Belladonna, SK1, and Sour Diesel. I'm growing in 3 gal smart pots using Foxfarm Ocean Forest. The majority of the plants are in their final 2-3 weeks, they're scheduled to come down around the 23rd of this month. I've got some pics for you all that I took today, here they are:

Any questions, thoughts, comments, or criticism is welcome as I'm here to contribute to the community as much as I am to learn from it. And again I'm glad to be a part of the team :)

The plants you see were vegged under CFL's, if I remember correctly it was 4 100w CFL's and 2 300w CFL's. However, prior to receiving the Solarstorm the flowering room had a 300w and 600w LED in it. Now the 300w LED is in the veg room with the 4 100w CFL's, which should make the next generation noticeably stronger. The plants in the flowering room right now were in veg a little longer than the norm, I think they were in there for 6 weeks, possibly 7. The one's in veg now will probably only be in there for 4-5 weeks.

Can anyone confirm if these are seeds or not? I just noticed them on one of the belladonnas in the room and I'm afraid it may have hermaphrodited :(

These were the best angles I could get, my camera's really touchy with the distance at which it'll focus. They look like seed sacs but with pistils coming out of them. Down towards the base of the stem there's a larger cluster where they look a lot more like seed, I'm almost positive she's hermie'd but my biggest concern is whether or not there's a chance it's pollinated the others in the room.

It does look like she hermied. (Those yellow Bananas are covered with pollen.) If she does pollinate the others, (which has most likely happened) those are the seeds you want to keep, (not the ones from the hermie) as they will be about a 95% female. Thats how some people make female seeds. Dont use the seeds from the hermie, as they will most likely be hermie seeds. Just process them separate, and throw away the hemie seeds. Peace. h

I assume that you're no longer updating your grow journal since you've deleted your pictures and haven't updated since march?

Are you going to start another journal as part of your agreement for the Growers Feedback Program?
